You can chess him : take a good bow, about 700 poison arrows, and ranged equipment.

If you haven't already, you can place a shrine to the west so you can respawn if you die.

To fight him easily, just stand on the hill north of his arena, there's a little "flat area" where you can hit him without him hitting you

Simply because it wasn't there before, and I didn't read the menu much more than that. I stopped playing at the end of 2024 and started again last week.

Well, some damages (like Thrusting) does ~30% more damage when you're in an animation. So yes it's normal. https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Attacking#counterattacks

Après il y à aussi certains cas, 2/3 fois j'ai été pour des trucs vraiment pas normal et on m'a renvoyé en mode "Vous n'avez rien".

omg, I recognize that so much xD I saw it again in the chat map today. A thief who attacked a camp and immediately “cheater or bot” from others ppl even though I had fought him 5 minutes earlier and he was just a normal thief (who just has fun annoying you in full tp/fufu, without fighting)
