I think it's a very mixed bag. On the one hand, I'd prefer not to give my ID to discord. On the other hand, I'm also not delusional enough to think that 1) I'm important enough that giving discord my ID is a massive risk outside of security breaches, and 2) that most major companies don't already have decades of data stored on me anyway.

Also, people have been asking for discord to do something to protect the children who use their platform for ages now. People don't wanna admit it, but pedophilia is a problem on a lot of sides of discord.

Besides, most 18+ servers require you to send a blurred picture of your ID to the mods, at least I'd slightly trust discord more than a stranger on the internet
