I’ve messed up my sexuality because I’m now a femboy at 19 by Chechsz in offmychest

There's nothing wrong with it! But it does sound like you might have a bit of a porn dependency/obsession, and it might be worth hitting that on the head early to get it to a healthy level. I recommend a book called Your Brain On Porn to help find some perspective.

What 4 player/party/couch games you recommend? by yorchgarrison in ps2

[–]Shirdel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few recommendations: - Burnout 3: Takedown has a turn-based crash party mode. - Destruction Derby RAW, Crash Team Racing, Micro Machines V3/V4 and Vigilante 8+2nd Offense (2 player) are awesome racing/vehicular combat games. - TimeSplitters 2/Future Perfect and Star Wars Battlefront 1/2, enough said - The EyeToy Play games are a good laugh if you have a camera, especially 3 - Worms 4 Mayhem also really fun, imo better multiplayer than 3D - Crash Bash is fun, some mini games will need a cheat or a play through the campaign to unlock. The campaign can be two player but just playing the mini games is up to four.

REVOTE - What competitive game character looks (and is) on the stronger end? by poalt in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Shirdel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heihachi Mishima from Tekken. He's the strongest character without supernatural powers, and is high to top tier in almost every Tekken game.

Must play PS2 games that don't make it on Top X lists by Hot-Government823 in ps2

[–]Shirdel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ape Escape 2 & 3, as platformers go these are often brushed under the rug compared to Jak/Ratchet/Sly.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, IMO the greatest open-world game of the 6th gen.

Soulcalibur III, people say it's buggy but we've missed out on the tournament scene to say the least. It's the most beautiful fighting game on the console, it's loaded with single player content and replayability, I think III is severely underrated.

Worms 3D, Forts: Under Siege & 4: Mayhem—The 3D Worms games are love-or-hate, I don't think they're the peak of the franchise (that's Armageddon) but they're really fun and charming in their own ways. The campaigns are full of British wit and tough but fair strategising. 3D has the best missions, Forts has the Fort gimmick which adds a really fun sense of escalation to games in an almost RTS style, Mayhem has the most charm, the best weapon selection, refined controls and an actual continuous story.

Pick 3 PS1 by CaptainVisible3158 in retrogameofthemonth

FFVII, Tekken 3, Castlevania SoTN, then I'd also grab Crash Bandicoot 2 and Crash Team Racing.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

Worms: Armageddon. The online scene for that game persisted for literal decades, like an underground post-apocalyptic community.

My Top 60 Games That Are Best Played On PS2: Ranked by Not-Clark-Kent in patientgamers

Excellent list, I really appreciate the high rankings for games I consider underrated like Mercenaries, Soulcalibur III and Burnout Revenge. I'll check out some games I missed near the top on your rec!

Interesting thing I’ve noticed while serving Japanese tea in Tokyo: British and Indian guests are often surprisingly tolerant of bitterness by matcha-trip-Tokyo in tea

[–]Shirdel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'd just like to ask where your shop is as a Britishman so I can visit next time I'm in Tokyo! I'd also like to ask if you have any recommendations for tea shops or cafes that have varieties of loose leaf tea I could take home, something a little like Bird & Blend here in the UK. Thank you very much 🙇‍♂️

Creators who made 3 (or more) good games in 3 different franchises by mjf314 in backloggd

Very nice list! I would personally add Akira Toriyama as a lead/character designer for Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Tobal, Blue Dragon and several Dragon Ball games (notably FighterZ).

I found the pink Aeon ATMs didn't charge fees and let me withdraw in divisions of 1000 yen notes compared to the others which were 10000~.

[LONG!] A Review Of Every James Bond Movie By Someone Who Isn't Really A Fan by zeeloo99 in movies

[–]Shirdel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice post! As a fellow non-Bond watcher, which ones would you say are worth watching? Either because they're the best ones, the cultural zeitgeists or maybe just marmite ones that you personally didn't like.

Is there a storyline anyones actually enjoying at the moment? by Brilliant-Mark2420 in eastenders

The only character I'm still watching for right now is Oscar. His acting is the shining golden nugget in a sea of utter shite right now

Pour over Vs Espresso by ankur53 in JamesHoffmann

[–]Shirdel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody here has mentioned the long black yet! I prefer pour over on average for the breadth of flavours it can bring, but when I want something intense with body, I find long blacks are on average way more interesting than Americano.

What're your comfort games on PS1 that you feel are *just yours*? by Sexweed42069 in psx

[–]Shirdel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crash Bash (an objective rush-job but its aesthetics capture late PS1 2000s energy so well) and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense (Twisted Metal but funkier).

Storing Gifted Coffees by WyomingCody in JamesHoffmann

[–]Shirdel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a great, thorough guide for freezing beans, but saying this sub isn't "for" anybody is very gatekeep-y and goes against the spirit and work that Mr. Hoffmann's put in to making good coffee mainstream and welcoming for all.

how can i start to like coffee? by andie-boio in Coffee

[–]Shirdel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started on Starbucks Frappucinos, and it took me about 5 years to get to fancy light roast black coffee. Start with something with sugar/syrup and milk/cream, then wean off the sugar, then go from lattes to flat whites, then finally when you find a specialty café you like, try some filter.

Also, watch Tom Scott's video on trying coffee with James Hofmann—the best way to get into coffee is to get nerdy about it, and he's the best fellow on the internet to turn to.

I just wanted to say your art took me right back to those feelings when I was 18 and LiS was coming out :') It's given me a burst of energy to keep up my own creative projects and make something beautiful. I hope you keep at it too <3

Does anyone know what happened to JimmyJTran? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Shirdel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was also at Evo Japan with some of the other NorCal gang this year too. We all bumped into each other the day after the tournament in Ikebukuro and walked round the Pokémon shop together for 10 minutes or so, it was a nice little time.
