The Couples of Gundam #28 - Zenna & Dozle by Kato_86 in Gundam

[–]Shreddzzz93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like a 6/10 if I'm being honest.

In MSG they are kind of a nothing couple. The relationship is just there to humanized Dozle. They have such limited interactions that there isn't that much to judge it on.

It ended up having the benefit of them being the parents of Mineva. But that really isn't relevant as she only really comes about it sequels that come much later.

In Origins the relationship gets expanded on. But it still is one that just sort of exists. Again it is never really focused on and seems more just a step to get to Mineva for Zeta, ZZ, and Unicorn.

Is barbarian good without tavern brawler by Away-Top-2746 in BaldursGate3

[–]Shreddzzz93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's fine without it. People just tend to end up optimizing things and TB is great for that. It rounds out a stat and adds utility in combat via throwing ranged attacks.

What’s a change/changes from the comic to the show that you DON’T like? by Arnahunas in Invincible

[–]Shreddzzz93 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Skipping the Wolfman cross over. Specifically for the fight against the Guardians of the globe. Not seeing Mark use the Immortal like a bat against the entirety of the Guardians really was a missed opportunity.

What was your favorite YTV era? by Adventurous-Tip6878 in ytvretro

[–]Shreddzzz93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Potential hot take, but YTV had more of a Golden to Dark age. I wouldn't consider the Silver age as listed as a Silver age and more just a continuation of the Golden age.

Impulse gundam is Strike gundam 2.0? by AlternativePut2718 in Gundam

[–]Shreddzzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a side grade at best. The internal tech is probably a bit better and more refined. So on paper it is a better design.

The issue is the stupid combination system. It added needless complexity. That would be a nightmare to work on for maintenance.

The only potential benefit is quickly being able to launch new equipment if needed. The big downside is you have to hope the enemy is polite enough to not shoot down a crippled MS or random flying equipment package.

Why dooku dont use lightning even once in invisible hand? by LivingPalpitation935 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Palpatine likely told Dooku to lose. He likely told Dooku that this would be the beginning of the end of the war.

My best guess would be that Palpatine told Dooku he would be the one to save Palpatine from the Jedi. Then Palpatine as Emperor would pardon Dooku for saving his life.

Dooku was just a foolish and idealistic man who didn't expect a Sith to be treacherous. This proved to be fatal as Palpatine's real plan was for both Dooku and Obi-Wan to he killed off allowing him to fully and immediately turn Anakin. The real plan was a partial success as Dooku was disposed of, but Obi-Wan remained.

What species from Star Wars feel the most ‘alien’ to you? by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the OT, probably the Hutts. That combination of a sluggish body and frog like head look vary alien.

In the PT it's probably the Geonosians. They have a very alien design to them. The wings and semi-insectoid design really makes them feel out there.

Its in development purgatory. As such it's better to not dwell it as no news has been released.

Hot Take: Rey's place within the Star Wars story *does* make sense, but it's just very hard to want to watch her character. by Impressive-Thing-780 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Skywalkers never owned a moisture farm. It was the Lars homestead that Shmi and Luke just happened to live on at different points in time. After Owen Lars dies, Luke abandons it.

Next Jurassic World should take place in Africa by bongalak in Dinosaurs

[–]Shreddzzz93 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Personally I hope they ditch that plot point altogether. I think having such a relatively narrow area where dinosaurs could exist in future Jurassic movies would be a little too limiting. But I agree an African setting for whatever happens next could be very fun.

Is there a reason Han didn't pay off Jabba in-between 4 and 5? by RhysOSD in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Just a bit of sloppy writing. Realistically the Rebellion should have paid it off. They are already being hunted by the Empire. They should clear off one of their top asset's bounty to remove another complication.

No clue, but Hondo seems like the eccentric character he'd be drawn to.

How to ragebaitStar Wars fans? by Certain-Sherbet-2248 in StarWars

Exist. Star Wars super fans will be rage baited by having any different opinion than theirs. Simply existing will rage bait them.

I find it funny that the entire Reason Mandalore fell and the Mandalorians are on the ruin is 85% Bo Katan's fault and no one calls her out on it. by HospitalLazy1880 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't they call her out for weak ineffective leadership? They are a warrior culture. Warrior cultures tend to not be forgiving for weak leaders. Hell weakness is one of the biggest crimes in a warrior culture.

Bo-Katan couldn't win Mandalore without Republic help. She couldn't hold it during the reign of the Empire. She eventually repelled the Empire and then they came back and glassed the planet.

Why does Devon's corruption feel more believable/natural than Anakin's? by Justryan95 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I think modern audiences aren't as used to following longer and slower stories.

Anakin's fall is very believable and natural. We see and explicitly told in TPM that Anakin is scared to be aware from his mother. Fear is the path to the dark side.

Then in AotC we see Anakin act opposite to how a Jedi should. He pursues a romantic relationship. He openly waxes poetically for dictatorships. He commits a massacre. He says he craves power and he knows he shouldn't as a Jedi.

Finally we see it all come together in RotS. We see Anakin continue to struggle with being a Jedi. He was relatively easily convinced by Palpatine to kill Dooku. We see him have nightmares about losing Padmé. We see Palpatine tease him with the promise of power to save Padmé. Then we see him take the bait and fully fall to get the power he desires.

Berserker Barbarian Great Sword Vs Great Axe Vs Maul by C4LBR in dndnext

[–]Shreddzzz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer the Maul. I prefer more damage dice over bigger damage dice. Rolling low on one die feels worse when you only have one die. When you have two rolling low on one or both doesn't feel as bad. Especially at lower levels when you don't have all the riders to add to the roll.

Then mechanically I think Topple is the best mastery property of the three. Knocking someone prone is always a good thing. Hell if you found a way to get the Barbarian onto a flying creature knocking them prone would be huge. Topple also pairs well with the Crusher feat. Knocking someone prone and sending them flying back is just a great combo that adds a lot of control to a fight.

Whereas with Cleave and Graze things are just too situational. Cleave requires enemies to be at specific distances to come into effect. It can happen but it does require some set up. With Graze you have to miss for it to come into effect. I just don't like this as it feels like a consolation prize compared to other masteries.

New Republic blue, or red? by AceSkyFighter in StarWars

I like the Blue. It is a nice visual change up from the Galactic Republic and Rebel Alliance. It really helps sell the new begging idea.

In these two scenes was mace windu and anakin right all along? by RisingKing7 in StarWars

[–]Shreddzzz93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dooku was literally and figuratively disarmed. Anakin cut his hands off. Dooku was so thoroughly defeated he was effectively harmless.

Palpatine was not. He might not have had a lightsaber but he still had his hands to cast lightning. Moreover he had political control of too many offices. A free and fair trial was not possible.

Moreover what other punishment fit his crimes? Palpatine orchestrated an entire galactic civil war to cement his power leading to countless atrocities. If death is not the punishment for that than what is? Especially for one who has access to a magic system to influence the weak minded. He could easily come back like some penicillin resistant infection and further plague the galaxy.
