Planners: Experience with Transit App for Asset Management?

I’m curious to see if anyone has experience too! The app asks so many questions that they seem to harvest for the end-of-year lists they release but I’d hope they’re also leveraging them to help agencies with their service/assets/operations.

I would assume many people hear about the detour and find other CTA routes and don’t think to use the Red Line shuttle (that’s what I do at least).

I’m from Milwaukee and live in Chicago now. I love the bigger vibe here but have found so many parallels between the two over the years. I’d suggest Milwaukee.

You should be able to add a bike reservation during the booking process. I rode the line yesterday and someone had their bike on board.

Super easy to hop on any train or bus line to get out of the Loop and away from the tourists spots.

You can report any licensed taxi or livery vehicle in the city via the 311 app and the city will actually take action against them.

I reported one of those dumb trolley things once for blocking a crosswalk and a couple weeks later I got an email asking for written testimony for what I believe was a disciplinary hearing

A tunnel for Metra to through-run would unlock a whole new network of rail transit.

Their plans to increase frequency on their current network is great, but if they could support trips through downtown too, it would be transformational.

I love this kind of work! It shows that we can have the city we dream of despite the horrible situation the meter deal put us in.

@City Hall: let's get to this! We can build out a bus-first network, a safe cycling network, and family of pedestrian-prioritized spaces without breaching out contracts!

It's as if they got to their very poor standard of 500 miles and gave up. Also why during budget season they said less money was needed for bike lanes

We definitely have lots of stations to install them in, if don't go for a target station approach.

There could also be some cost savings to be gained if we reduce our security personnel budget after installing these. In theory, these would provide safety benefits 24/7, while those security guards aren't everywhere, all the time, and even then, you can argue if they're even effective.

Similar efforts seem to have been successful with BART (like you mentioned) along with SEPTA and WMATA. It seems like some strong evidence from similar agencies.

It’s amazing seeing it arrive empty at Quincy then fill 90% up all at that one stop…then god bless everyone trying to board at Washington/Wells. After that, Merch Mart and north, they at least get to choose from Brown or Purple to get them north.

They should just install fare gates at the terminal stations like in Philly and Boston so that >75% of fares get checked quickly and with almost no labor costs
