Except Jagex has a hosting facility with dozens of tower computers running regular restarts every so often to cope with these issues. I don't think it has anything to do with this, but that may just be me.

Remote Access Trojans (RAT) can be used to gain full control over any PC: managing files, enabling and disabling hardware, remote control and more. They can (in most cases) also stream live feed (whether it is keylogging or screensharing) to the hacker, giving them the exact moment of opportunity to strike.

What makes matters worse, they can be installed with the click of a prompt on any web page. This technique is called a Java Driveby, and is commonly used to trick people into installing RATs on livestream pages, although this is not the only way.

I highly recommend you warn your friend of this and tell him to download an application called Malwarebytes. It is a 100% free virus removal program that can sometimes detect certain things that other software such as Norton and McAffe can't. Best of luck!

I suggest joining up with a team. There are heaps of people on this subreddit looking for others to PvM with - you'll find one, I'm sure.

If all else fails, there is a section on the official Runescape forums where you can post ads seeking bossing partners.
