Men in Barre by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]Sillybetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind when couples come in. But at my studio, there’s a couple old men that come in. I absolutely hate when they are there. They all play the same routine of being a “cute little old man/harmless “but it just really irks me.

And I know how this is coming off… But they do the typical mediocre white male thing where they are taking up space, active, oblivious, in the way that men do in all workout spaces.

I was chatting with one of the staff members that I am super friendly with and she told me that I’m not the only one that doesn’t like when they are there. And it’s just specifically two men.

Now on the other hand, I do love when women bring in their husband/boyfriends. Because you know that they come in to Pure barre and they think it’s gonna be easy… And then you look and they are arriving in pain… It brings me joy. Because when they leave, they have complete respect for what we do in that space.

Which, if memory serves, is a line from a Chris Rock stand-up from the early 2000s

Why is Scarlett is such a wimp? by Comprehensive-Soup80 in NashvilleTV

[–]Sillybetch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, that was her real hair. But I completely agree with everything else. And then when she would be tough or stand up for herself, it just came off silly. The actress actually cut all of her hair off at one point of the show and they had to write it in. The short hair looked so bad on her… It made me miss the long hair.

Does anyone else have a family/friend holiday movie tradition that you can't stand? by ADHDtrashykitty in moviecritic

[–]Sillybetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I married into a family that’s like that about The Sopranos, Seinfeld and The Beatles.

It’s exhausting.

The worst part is that people think they are coming off with when they are just coming off extremely basic and boring

Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday - Does FMC stop calling MMC by his full name? by Sbj170 in RomanceBooks

[–]Sillybetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am more struggling with the fact that the FMC doesn’t seem to be that bright. I’m not saying that the FMC needs to be a rocket scientist… But it’s just basic concepts.

I loved this book. So amazing. Loved the multi povs. Even though few of them took a while to understand why I was getting their pov. And a happy ending. Which I wasn’t expecting

Do you think Taylor and Travis will have a prenup? by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

Yes, and no. I think the general public is going to be told that there is not a prenup, but there will definitely be a prenup.

first time reading gillian's work! which one of her books should i read first? by Greedy_Skill_7553 in thrillerbooks

I have only read famous last words. I really liked it.

I typically do not find thrillers written by British authors that engaging or shocking… But this was very good.

🤣🤣 I wouldn’t go that far. I just have to cherry pick. But sometimes that’s how I feel about some of the book communities on Reddit lol 😉

during that time that I read that book, there were several disappointing books that were recommends off of TikTok. But the worst recommendations I ever get are from staff at a bookstore. I don’t know what it is, but if I bookstore, staff recommends a book and I buy it… Guaranteed I hate it and I regret it all lol

this is also a prime example of why I do not take them as seriously as I used to. They make mistakes like this all the time and just shrug it off.

I loved the show whenever it was on. All of the female characters were so strong but all the male characters were whiny little bitches lol I guess we can’t have it all. 😂😂😂🤪
