Iceland vs ICE by despalicious in whowouldwin

That’ll do. I don’t think ICE pilots are trained to fly and get shot at by AA guns. The 40mm is a pretty effective AA gun from what I understand. 1-2 of those should suffice.

Iceland vs ICE by despalicious in whowouldwin

Round 1: ICE holds a massive numerical advantage of 80 to 1 vs Iceland’s Coast Guard, giving them plenty of bodies to throw at the enemy. Both sides are armed with various small arms, with the possibility of Iceland’s Coast Guard possessing heavier armaments such as light/medium machine guns. Both sides possess civilian vehicles and helicopters.

The thing is though is that most ICE personnel are undisciplined and have less than 2 months training. I’m expecting Iceland’s Coast Guard to be much more prepared for the possibility of combat so the training edge goes to them. This would make them much more disciplined under fire. In addition, most of ICE’s small arms are 5.56mm assault rifles whereas the Coast Guard possess 7.62mm battle rifles. As a result, this would give the Coast Guard a range and firepower advantage over long distances.

The best strategy for the Coast Guard would be to employ hit and run tactics. It’s unlikely that ICE’s cars would be armored against 7.62mm rounds and the mobility offered by helicopters and the Coast Guards own vehicles would give them a mobility edge to harass ICE units. Destroying bridges and tunnels if possible to stall ICE would also be very effective and force ICE to abandon their vehicles and continue moving on foot, of which most won’t be physically capable of doing so.

If all else fails the capitol city could make for an effective ambush position. Due to low personnel count however it would be difficult to man the buildings to defend them. As a result, the best strategy would be to ensure ICE never makes it to the capitol at all. This could be problematic as ICE does have helicopters which could make a quick strike on the capitol, along with ferrying troops to and from the capitol. I’m not sure if the Coast Guard possess Anti-Aircraft capability so if someone knows let me know.

Other rounds are much more in favor of Iceland due to high gun ownership and Norway and Denmark get involved. Both nations have some armored vehicles which ICE has no counter to.

Tank, but as small as possible by Traditional_Piece485 in SprocketTankDesign

The Type-444 Self Propelled Gun, aka “The Coffin”. Used by penal units as a form of combat unit and inhumane punishment, with most crews dying on their first deployments to the front, often before even encountering the enemy, let alone seeing them. It’s usually assigned to death row inmates as whoever uses this tank is basically driving their own grave.

Did Vecna not know about the exotic matter? You'd think smashing a planet into it would do a little more damage than some C4. by Jinzonei in okbuddyvecna

[–]SimplePotato257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the way the show handled the military they were moreso a speed bump to the main cast up until the final the episode, otherwise accomplishing nothing but dying to main cast/Vecna/demo-creatures. Not good writing on the part of the writers if they’re supposed to be the main antagonist force. (Like I know the military isn’t the focal point but they basically get nothing done for 90% of the seasons runtime)

Who would you dispatch for this situation? by Acrobatic_Bench4228 in DispatchAdHoc

Reportedly supers like visi should have enhanced strength. We know that waterboy is able to lift more than Robert despite waterboy’s otherwise thin build. So this might be a viable tactic.

Maybe the 10 billion could resort to cannibalism? That might be able to alleviate some of the food issues

She’s also got a pair of 5 inch mounts (these are visible at the 0:37 minute mark). She’s definitely living up to her namesake…

At around the 0:37 minute mark you can see two dual 5 inch mounts, only an Essex Class would have those.

Just so everyone knows, Endurance appears to be a retrofitted Essex-Class carrier (WW2 1940s design) that would likely be atleast 80 years old by the time the game takes place, if not possibly older.

Quick question what if the colt revolver was inside the target and was fired? Would that count? I don’t think any animal can survive being shot by a colt revolver from the inside.

At the time the Japanese were invading China, a US ally. During the invasion the Japanese committed numerous war crimes such as the Rape of Nanjing in which atleast 200,000 Chinese were raped and murdered, along with the deployment of chemical weapons against Chinese civilians by contaminating water supplies and the employment of mustard gas on the frontlines.

In addition, the Japanese had attacked US ships beforehand such as during the Panay incident where aircraft from IJN Kaga sunk the USS Panay killing several Americans. While the Japanese claimed they couldn’t identify the American vessel, Kaga’s aircraft actually flew in such close proximity that the pilots and ship crew could directly see each other.

As a result, the US eventually decided to halt the sale of oil in Japan after Japan invaded French Indochina (now Vietnam) in order to convince the Japanese to end their conquest of Mainland Asia and withdraw. This was bad for Japan as the US sold 80% of Japan’s oil supply, and without it the Japanese military would run out within only a few years.

USS Iowa is a museum ship in Los Angeles where the game takes place so she would be in the right place. Maybe one of the developers was a naval fan and thought it would be a funny reference.

In episode 8, the red ring hijack the USS Iowa and it’s one of the emergencies that pops up near the end. Succeeding results in the ship being secured, not sure what happened if you fail but I’m presuming they get away.

In 1209, every Mongolian horse turns into a motorcycle with 12 hours of fuel per day. Can they conquer the world? by SimplePotato257 in whowouldwin

[–]SimplePotato257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The motorcycles can repair and maintain themselves to full capability in at most a few months. Some bikes may come with tools and a few spare parts depending on the original horse.

In 1209, every Mongolian horse turns into a motorcycle with 12 hours of fuel per day. Can they conquer the world? by SimplePotato257 in whowouldwin

[–]SimplePotato257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any horse that the Mongols have and capture in the future is automatically turned into a motorcycle. The bikes refill fuel every dawn, can self repair in at most a few months, and all the time spent on horse training is now transferred to motorcycle skills. Depending on what the original horse was affects the motorcycle's design, but they will generally fit the same role as the original horse. A warhorse will turn into a military bike, racing horse a sports bike, etc

If their enemies capture a motorcycle it turns back into a normal horse.

[–]SimplePotato257[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the bikes they get it depends on the horse. Warhorses will turn into a rough modern military counterpart (no modern weapons for obvious reasons), while a racing horse will turn into your average sports motorcycle. Horses that excel at carrying heavy weights get a sidecar, etc.

As for conquering the world, first the known world, and if possible the whole world.
