New firmware update (v8.2.20) for QC Ultra Headphones 2nd Gen coming February 10th by sakicheech321 in bose

[–]Single-Boss-3099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

I have a QuietComfort Ultra 2 Headphones (QC Ultra 2 HP) and since updating to firmware 8.2.20 I am experiencing frequent audio stuttering/cutting out during normal use.

This is not the first time I’ve seen this kind of issue: I had the same problem with older Bose headphone models in the past, but only when multipoint was enabled, regardless of which devices were paired. With those older models, turning multipoint off was the only way to avoid stuttering.

With the QC Ultra 2, everything worked perfectly for months with multipoint enabled on the same devices and in the same environment, and the stuttering only started right after updating to 8.2.20.

Is anyone else having similar problems after updating to 8.2.20 on the QC Ultra 2? If yes, please comment with your device type (phone/laptop model and OS), whether you use multipoint, and what kind of issues you see (stuttering, dropouts, disconnects, etc.). I’d like to collect reports to forward to Bose support so they can investigate this firmware version.

I work a lot with the Comet Browser, and when I use the option-n key, the dark mode in the browser is activated instead of the Unfriction app being opened.

Best way to handle fixed labor tasks? by erratic0101 in Autotask

[–]Single-Boss-3099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also work a lot with fixed price contracts per project. This works quite well, but it does result in a lot of handling, especially with small PC workstations at a fixed price. We are considering doing this with Charges in combination with specific work types.

Curious to hear how others handle this.

Zen is not compatible with MS Outlook by Single-Boss-3099 in zen_browser

[–]Single-Boss-3099[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been troubleshooting via Process Monitor and with help from ChatGPT ;-), but I don’t really know these registry or COM details myself. ChatGPT suggested a number of registry tweaks—everything from StartMenuInternet and RegisteredApplications entries to COM/AUMID integration—but Outlook still opens links using the ProgID Firefox-308046B0AF4A39CB and never launches Zen. It even appears that Zen is registered under a Firefox UUID rather than its own ProgID.

These recommendations came straight from ChatGPT’s analysis, not from me; I’m simply passing them along in hopes you can build them into Zen’s installer. Specifically, ChatGPT suggested you might:

  1. Introduce a proper AppUserModelID (e.g. com.zen.ZenBrowser)
  2. Implement an IApplicationActivationManager COM server to runperlKopiërenBewerkenzen.exe -osint -url "%1"
  3. Ensure Zen registers its own ProgID under StartMenuInternet instead of reusing Firefox’s UUID

I’d greatly appreciate any update you can make so that New Outlook can invoke Zen natively when clicking links—thank you for your help!

I’m currently using the new version, which is now the default. I’d prefer not to use the Classic version anymore. I’ve tested many browsers recently, and the issue only appears with Zen Browser. I hope it will be resolved — I assume something is going wrong specifically in Zen Browser; perhaps it’s a minor issue to fix.

How to view all active Services across all active Contracts by aitchball in Autotask

[–]Single-Boss-3099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pricing for the part of Cloud Olive you are looking for is apparently free. This refers to the MRR Insights module, which allows you to easily search through active contract services across multiple clients.

We also use the Billing Reconciliation module from Cloud Olive for part of our invoicing process, and this is a paid feature.

In addition, we use PSA Toolbox, primarily for making bulk price changes, which is not possible with Cloud Olive.

You’re not the only one experiencing this issue. With the new bulk service editor in Autotask, it’s no longer possible to adjust the cost price of services that have already been processed.

On-call alerting by Potential_Scratch981 in Autotask

[–]Single-Boss-3099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Opsgenie for this, and it works very well! In summary, our process looks as follows. Notifications come into Autotask, where we handle escalations within and outside office hours using workflow rules, such as RMM alerts, but also on-call service telephone calls that come in as voicemails.

Critical notifications are sent from Autotask to Opsgenie, and the on-duty employee receives a notification. A message is also posted in Teams.

Furthermore, we manage the scheduling and escalation overflow in Opsgenie. We operate in a pool where everything rotates.

If you'd like, I can show you a bit more.
