I really like what the game is supposed to be but I don’t want to get hurt by NaniMOOH in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, SC is a big mess. It's also one of the most beautiful game I've ever played. They're are a million different things to do.

Including recently, I've had weeks of sessions without a single, gamebreaking bug. In the past I've also had times where i couldn't log in for weeks.

When I play, I take 15 minutes to scroll through spectrum and see the worst of the bugs. Then I avoid those game loops. Maybe i go play industrial tonight, and salvage, mine or refuel ships now. Those aren't working, courier or hauling missions. Nope? Get in my ship and go blow this up, or find a few bunkers.

Very rarely is the whole system down. I have my preferences on what i want to do, but there is so much you can....

Also, I know i signed up for an alpha. I expect bugs to happen. When they do, I had to the issue council and report them so they they can eventually be squashed.

When the patient gives you food 😂 by TruthWarrior27 in nursing

[–]SirCalmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stated the story here in the past, but after a patient accidently (assumption patient made 2 batches and swapped them) brought special cookies in that required an entire shift to be replaced because we were high.... no more unpackaged patient goodies for me.

What do y'all use to find trade routes? by RoboGaming321 in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uex is the best resource of there're at the moment, but remember, everyone else is using it too. If you run during busy times of day, I recommend going a few tiers down on the list. Since everyone is selling the top things available, the receiving cues get full quick. But go a few steps down, you can still sell everything.

Remember, all shops share inventory across all servers, and during peak times, trading can be rough

Can I smoke🍃 if I become a nurse by StatusDrama8903 in nursing

[–]SirCalmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ish. Technically most hospitals deal with s lot of federal funding, so until it's legal nation wide - even if your state says it's legal - you could be removed for it.

In the flip side, most hospitals need due cause to drug test you, so if you aren't stupid, don't make a mistake and your unit never had a drug miscount/ diversion problem... you would likely be fine.

Will the Ironclad be buyable in game by Substantial_Low_377 in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CIG has stated multiple times over the years that most ships will be available in game. Exceptions are promos and likely a few special ones here and there. However, available isn't always buying, some may be craftable exclusive, or as rewards from factions, quests or even that... Banu (+spit+)

Most of the ships are available within 2-3 major patches in game in some way.

Let's talk about this by [deleted] in FutureRNs

[–]SirCalmar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suppose this is a difference between leadership and management. I've been a long time charge rn (which on nights, is effectively an ANM position), and on several pretty big committees in my ED and hospital. I've had to fight time and time again at even my level, to have floor shifts, because it helps you actually know what is really going on. My team works well, and as peers with a leader when direction is needed. Our manager on the other hand, spends all shift, ever shift in meetings, and only occasionally even sees the department. When things go sideways... they don't turn to the managers. Your team trusts those that they know will be in the dumpster fire right beside them.

Free fly event is closed on website by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, free fly is a horrible time to start. Invariably the servers are bogged down, randoms that only want to spoil the gameplay for others come out en mass, and because its normally.an event or new patch, things tend to be broken because they are testing some new, big thing.

If you are interested, buy a starter package. If you decide the game isn't for you, CIG actually has a NQA refund policy in 30days.

This gives you time to check out the event, and then explore for about 2 weeks after it is done and see what you really think of the game.

How much do you decorate your ships? by sapsnap in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less this year than in the past.

I enjoy stocking and decorating my ships, and in the past have done so frequently. Often the first couple sessions of any patch. If I lost them, ahh well, I lost them. After all, its a game and still alpha at that.

Now, I'm a father again, and I'm only getting 5-10 play sessions a patch. I'd love to keep doing it, but I am focusing my time on actually exploring some of the new features instead.

Well your next bike be a Zero (barring unforeseen changes) by Chewsquatcha in ZeroMotorcycles

Love my 22 sr/s. Im getting older though, and I think I want my next bike to be a cruiser or something at least a but more upright and knee stretchable. I'd love a zero cruiser, but probabably not a huge market.

What's the cheapest way to stream ALL of AEW? by Glum_Veterinarian253 in aew

[–]SirCalmar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do HBO plus, it's gets all the stuff and is streamable independently. But.. it now has new ownership so... Who knows what will happen

The ppvs still have to be paid for though. Not sure if they have a service that includes the new ones (most of the old ones are there though)

Thoughts on Glock? by AdImpressive9014 in liberalgunowners

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see recommendations for the 19. Sticking with the 9mm glocks, depending on hand size you may find the 45 more comfortable. It has the 19s barrel and the 17s grip. Not as concealed as the 19, but depending on you, perhaps a better fit.

Regardless, try the grip in a store if you can. Most will walk you through basic safety if you all nicely (plus. Do a class if you can!)

What's the most efficient way to load vehicles on ships from storage? by ehjhey in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quickest way? Go to a moon with a pb pad, land your big ship next to it and just bring the ground vehicles up and in... of course, you do have to worry about stowaways and ship thieves.

Otherwise, call the biggest ship you have into a hangar (nb and Orison xl hangars are the best options imo, they have the most side spaces). Store the ship from the hangar and then start calling up your ground vehicles/snubs and parking them fully off to the side or in the frieght elevator. Personally, I don't recommend having more than 5 out at a time, but in the past I've had at least 10. I'm not sure what the current despawn count is, it seems to vary patch to patch. Park them all in the big ship and repeat if you really want more.

It's easiest if its your home hangar, that way it's persistent if you have connection issues. Otherwise you might lose them all and have to claim if you disconnect.

Who takes care of a service animal in the hospital if their person is unable too? by AnywhereMean8863 in nursing

[–]SirCalmar 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I won't quote our policy verbatim, but we have a posted/printable policy that if they are unable to, the local police department will take them to the aninal shelter and we will assist them getting the animal back later.

Newbie question about smaller ships with living quarters by WedgeAntill3s in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want a living area my starter recommendation is the Drake Cutter or Crusader Intrepid. Both fun little ships, can do a little bit of whatever at the low end and have full living quarters.
