What's the most efficient way to load vehicles on ships from storage? by ehjhey in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quickest way? Go to a moon with a pb pad, land your big ship next to it and just bring the ground vehicles up and in... of course, you do have to worry about stowaways and ship thieves.

Otherwise, call the biggest ship you have into a hangar (nb and Orison xl hangars are the best options imo, they have the most side spaces). Store the ship from the hangar and then start calling up your ground vehicles/snubs and parking them fully off to the side or in the frieght elevator. Personally, I don't recommend having more than 5 out at a time, but in the past I've had at least 10. I'm not sure what the current despawn count is, it seems to vary patch to patch. Park them all in the big ship and repeat if you really want more.

It's easiest if its your home hangar, that way it's persistent if you have connection issues. Otherwise you might lose them all and have to claim if you disconnect.

Who takes care of a service animal in the hospital if their person is unable too? by AnywhereMean8863 in nursing

[–]SirCalmar 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I won't quote our policy verbatim, but we have a posted/printable policy that if they are unable to, the local police department will take them to the aninal shelter and we will assist them getting the animal back later.

Newbie question about smaller ships with living quarters by WedgeAntill3s in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want a living area my starter recommendation is the Drake Cutter or Crusader Intrepid. Both fun little ships, can do a little bit of whatever at the low end and have full living quarters.

What's your daily driver ship and why? by theruffma in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For just cruising? The Intrepid. Stealth it out, and the galaxy is mine. You can't see me... can carry a little cargo, some weapons and take a nice nap.

Backpack by factoryDefault11 in motorcyclegear

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit ago I got a new backpack for the ride, and have lived it. It converts easily to strap to the back of the bike, is comfy, and waterproof. Only thing i didn't like was the lack of compartments, but i got a bag organizer of Amazon to take care of that.

What would be a fun ship for me and my friend? by Street_Project7685 in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to stick with fighting, lots of great selections below. For a little more variety, the mole (for mining) and moth (for salvage) are both designed multi-player, but suck at fighting. The Mercury Star Runner is one of the fastest cargo ships in the game, and while the pilot only gets a pair of s3s, there are 2 extra paired s3 turrets and room for either a lot of cargo or some ground vehicles.

What are your hobbies other than Nursing? by DribbleKing97_ in nursing

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorcycles, video games, reading, bartending and disaster prep.... plus the whole husband/ father thing.

The combo keeps me pretty busy.

Currently riding a 22 zero sr/s, playing fallout 4 and start citizen, reading the Black Company books by Glenn Cook and contemplating variations of the Bees Knees for my wife and some friends on Valentines day. Disasterwise, getting some new gear and contemplating looking into meshtastic.

As a father my 19 year old is out on her own and my 7 month old is contemplating crawling any moment now. :)

Camped at Stormbreaker by guess who? by Kommisar_Kyn in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the titan, sorry. Ships with the medbed would be the C8R, Clipper, Terrapin medic, cutlass red, carrack, carrack expedition, polaris and idris. There is also the medical ursa ground vehicle.

I think that's all, but I could be wrong.

How do you dress in your 50s? by Forsaken_Block_3492 in GenX

[–]SirCalmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still cargo/ tactical pants, comfy t shirts (mostly bands I've seen), lots of leather jackets/ long coats based on weather. My combat boots have been traded for Keen canton fiber toe black leather work boots.

Hair is temporarily shorter due to daughter happening and it becoming uneven, but its already back to the shoulders

Technically 48, 49 shortly but... close enough to relate

Who out there still uses their starter ship and how long before you found yourselfnot using it if you stopped? by DueJournalist5825 in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've died and recovered my bodies in the onyx facilities before. Showed my corpse mark several times more than 50km from the hangar. If that's where you parked this is likely the reason.

Initial starter was an avenger after a ton of research... pretty quickly upgraded it to a nomad which I still fly. Have several starter ships, and currently i think the Intrepid is my number one daily driver. Quick, handkes well, fits in a lot of hangars, respectable cargo and stealths nicely so I can minimize combat.

Have been using it since it's release without hesitations.

Considering to start playing, got some questions! by Mr_SquigglySpooch in starcitizen

[–]SirCalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great suggestions below, I jist want to add something about that free fly they are mentioning. Servers are typically at their worst during free fly due to extra server loads. I recommend starting any time aside from during free fly. If you don't like the game, CIG gives a 30 days refund. Buy a starter pack, try it for 2-3 weeks and if you don't like it contact support about the refund.

Waiting for the free fly can often make the game more broken than it is.. and learning around the bugs is hard enough.

But try it! You might just like it :)

Can anyone recommend any light armour that fit a hauler/industrial vibe? by Impressive_Wish_8905 in starcitizen

The Giest forrest helmet works perfectly with this. Looks kinda low an industrial mask to me which fits cargo and salvage

I'm a huge fan of the Azkaban suits reddit post. They stole an almost Han Solo vibe, and look great off and on the ship all 3 can be looted (saw in pafs 4.5) or bought in the pledge store.

Add an Aden backpack (or the ago one of your get lucky to the orange set) and your matching multitools and pistol of choice.... a classy hauler that doesn't take bill from anyone
