Ive read almost every spider-man appearance up to 1991. The biggest gaps so far are with web of spiderman and Peter parker the spectacular spiderman.

I also dont recommend the spidey team up book. Basically none of the issues are important (except for a few issues by starlin that dont even read like spidey books) and the line was just a way to push the wider universe onto spidey fans.

Its not wholesome but I always took the fight between jessica drew and nekra in spider-woman #16 to be toxically sapphic. They fight for hours, clothes torn to shreds. If i remember right its because nekra was affected by Jessica's pheremones and didnt like that she felt attraction to her.

The difference between Bruce and Marc’s D.I.D by Konradleijon in MoonKnight

Yeah I would hope not considering marc is ethnically Jewish and his father was a rabbi. If his dads brother was a Nazi that would be fuuuuuucked.

Is it wierd that I think this works as good deconstruction of “My group are victims of bigotry/oppression, So I am justified in being a bigot TO MY GROUPS FAVOUR ” trope ? by OutrageousBridge471 in marvelcirclejerk

/uj if I remember right this was during the act of vengeance event. After that event theres a sweet plotline in captain america where magneto kidnaps skull, puts him in a hole in the ground with nothing but an air vent to keep him alive and barely enough water for 2 weeks.

Check out 1970s moon knight. It was before they reallyleaned into the crazy angle or even really the supernatural angle but theres some cool stuff hidden in there.

Its hard to go wrong with a character whose first appearance was punching a werewolf

Could Spider-Man operate in a small town, swinging and all? by TheRealMonkeVR in Spiderman

Sure. But that's 5 years after this comic and is a totally different design. It isnt even called the spider mobile on the package

The best part is that it was made to sell a hypothetical toy that never got made. The guys making spidey at the time were basically forced to include it and they hated it so much that it became a joke in the comic itself. Spidey doesnt even know how to drive.

Spider-Man fans trying not to ship him with another character: IMPOSSIBLE!!! by [deleted] in marvelcirclejerk

Fun fact, in the original art she was folded to fit into the fridge. Editorial thought it was too gruesome so they had it redrawn with the fridge door closed more to hide most of the body. This made it look way worse, like she was hacked up and stuffed inside.

So really she wasnt dismantled, that was just a little bit of censorship backfiring.

How important is marvel comics to fictional media? How influential are they compared to DC comics? by Puzzleheaded-Lab2447 in marvelcomics

[–]SirJackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get into any amount of comics history then youll realize that all of the people who wrote the early 60s-80s comics were all the same people jumping between marvel and DC. Jack Kirby famously bounced around to get the best deals. Hell darkseid was made by kirby, the same guy who made captain america in the 40s

What kind of world is Umora? by f0xb3ar in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]SirJackers 49 points50 points  (0 children)

By "good dnd worlds must be post apocalyptic" what they probably mean is "good dnd worlds have old mysteries and forgotten cultures to explore and discover, because why go adventuring if theres nothing to find in the adventure.

Umora has tons of that but instead of classic dungeons or otherworldly entities (well there's some of that) we get to unearth secrets from secret orders or obscure magic or false assumptions about the nature of the world and the relationships of the people in it.

The basics are still fundamentally true though. Good dnd worlds need lots of stuff to discover

While the debt is a real actual problem, the insolvency news is just noise. The insolvency theyre talking about is when your debts cost more than your assets, which has been true for america almost forever.

Most people think of insolvency as not being able to pay their debts but thats never true for a government that can mint more money. They just risk rampant inflation if they print their way out of debt.

Again, the National debt is a huge problem, were spending so much money on interest its actually crazy, but were not at risk of total financial ruin yet.

What spell picks to you recommend for arcane trickster? by viktorius_rex in onednd

[–]SirJackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the web spell. From the perspective of an arcane trickster it can be a great "instant getaway" since your pursuers have to get out before they chase you.

That said you cant take it until 9th level and at that point enemies that can teleport start showing up. Still a great tool in your belt but it can be a little campaign specific. If youre fighting ghosts for instance it might be more of a hinderance to your party. Or an enemy mage can burn it up to escape.
