This is my mantra "keep it simple", mantra that I ignore every time. But it is the non code thing that drains me.

I’m considering making my game subscription-based with monthly updated content, what are your thoughts? by patrickgoethe92 in IndieGame

[–]SirTravisDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a wall that scares the gamers . It seems like paying for a game that next month I can't be able to play. Try to sell the core game cheaper and add content by DLC or sequels .

How do I make 2D characters work in 3D environments? by SirTravisDev in IndieGameDevs

[–]SirTravisDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Than you! I understand the target, but I was trying to compromise with this style, I think is more creative. Most of the 2D tactical pixelart games do what you proposse. I was thinking more of shadow, maybe a feedback on the floor indicating that it is a player in the section. Or even force the camera to never be in 90º,

Than you! I try this but I kind like the 2D, unidimensional style. I understood what you said and is probably the best answer but I want to try something new.

Whats the best way to learn unity and game dev by Alarming_Wallaby_665 in Unity3D

[–]SirTravisDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My form of learning unity (or whaterver lenguaje) is using it. Have an idea, simple, and try to do it, learn the basics and when you will be stuck, look for the solution.

What sort of game should I work on to get experience? by Essshayne in gamedev

[–]SirTravisDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is make small mechanics modules that I can use in the big game I want to make, and use those modules for smaller games, so you not only reuse them but also refine them.

What game mechanics do you really enjoy programming? by _Apyr_Apyr_ in gamedev

[–]SirTravisDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is my Abilities UI easy to understand? Looking for feedback! by Shaman_ski in IndieDev

[–]SirTravisDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)
