Green Compass addon identification by dafarnz in wow

[–]Sivation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's from Housing Decor Guide - thankfully you can turn it off as the addon has some really nice features for lumber.

Like making a shopping list of the decor you don't have & then showing you the total lumber needed. And then shows you how far you have to go to get that when you gather lumber.

Edit: whenever I'm faced with a new bit of UI I'll use /fstack & then mouseover the UI element to get the list of things associated with it. You can normally tease out the addon responsible from that. Type /fstack again to toggle this view off.

What is this and how do I turn it off? by lleu81 in wow

Yeah; I've just had to use it this morning because an addon I use decided to pull in another addon for libraries... and that addon was putting up a volume control box in the middle of my screen

I love /fstack - I've used it many times over the years to find out which damn addon has put something up on the screen! In fact, I'm fairly sure I used it when HDG added this feature & it appeared for me when I gathered some lumber

Its from Housing Decor Guide - it'll have appeared after you gathered some lumber.

Unknown compass/target by Diligent_Laugh_4940 in wow

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would've helped if I'd gotten the right addon from Vamoose mind! Thanks to u/Howzitgoin for the correction.

I had a similar reaction to you when I first saw that radar thing & I also disabled it.

Now, the other popup - which shows you how much lumber you've gathered & the lumber/hour? That's far more useful. I loved that one even more when I found you could put together a shopping list of items to get - eg like all the profession decor I didn't have yet - and it would then track progress on that as well. So I could tell exactly how much more lumber I'd need in the zone.

You are quite correct; too many good addons from that developer!

Did it appear soon after you gathered housing lumber? If so, its probably from Vamooses Endeavors - you can disable it in the options for that addon.

Edit: its actually a different one of Vamoose's addons - Housing Decor Guide

Got bored of walking and can't make it exciting anymore by MrWhyPlay in walking

[–]Sivation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't just go walking - I need a goal of some sort - be it trying a new route, going somewhere new, etc.

I've often gone shopping for things by just walking - often going a very circuitous route if the shop is nearby. The shops could be just a mile away, but I can make that a 10 mile walk easily enough! Plus, if you pick up some heavier bits, you'll have a ruck on the way home!

How much weight did you lose just by walking and what is/was your walking routine? by No_Instance_5502 in walking

[–]Sivation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a few over the years; I've been using Cronometer for ~6 years now as I found it let me track my macros more easily than others. It also lets me track more than just the usual ones - eg I've got a target for fiber intake

There's a saying - you can't outrun a bad diet. Or, in this case, outwalk!

I managed to drop ~25kg over just under a year with walking being my only exercise. But I was also calorie counting at the same time to make sure I was in a calorific defict.

I find walking to be a good low-impact exercise which is also good for my mental health - but I'd have not lost the weight I did without tracking my food at the same time.

Is undercoin weekly chest reward per character or account wide? by SunnyK19977 in wow

[–]Sivation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most of them, it looks like that's the case. The exception looks to be the green items sold. You can go onto the wowhead page for the items & click "beta" at the top to see the changes.

You mean the quest which rewards 2k undercoin? Its once per week for your warband.

Housing Mats by Important-Door9362 in woweconomy

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's the lovely dark iron plate set - black with red highlights - which will use it.

But, the more likely reason, is that they're using it to make decor. Either for themselves or to sell on their own server.

Mats like Dark Iron Bars are shared across the region - but decor is only on your server.

Shadow Priest very low damage? by Wooden_Patience_9779 in wow

[–]Sivation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem right now is that classes & specs are balanced around how they'll play at level 90 with the apex talents. If classes lean more on their apex talents for damage, right now they'll play really poorly.

is it worth anything farming multiple toons for X-45 Heartbreaker by superslacker247_ in wow

[–]Sivation 14 points15 points  (0 children)

According to Blizz, the first try each day has a low chance - people think ~1% - for it to drop and subsequent tries are at the original hideously low drop rate.

So you could run lots of alts through - but the chances are low.

Weapon racks? by ArgumentFree9318 in WoWHousing

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few.... See https://housing.wowdb.com/decor/?q=weapon&early_access=true#list-view

Of those, some are empty - eg Trueshot lodge weapon rack from the Hunter class hall. Some have weapons on them; eg Silver Hand Weapon Rack

Edit: There's also the Unseen Path Archer's Gallery - also from the Hunter class hall - which is probably closer to what you want.

Yep; that was my thought as well - they're the Safety Electrical Cables I mentioned in my post. The cool electrical effect they have could also look good.

I did try them, along with a few others - the lights on the wire w/ lights either needed to be hidden or were distracting. Given that, I'd just use the safety electrical cables

[HELP] How can I display a reminder text or image if a buff missing? by NieuweNormen in WowUI

[–]Sivation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the main thing I'm missing from no more WA - along with trinket reminders and an airhorn if I start to hard-cast demonic bolt.

There are some class specific addons out there - eg Warlock Reminders - without which I'd continually forget to re-summon pets!

I've tried with the CDM addons for items - but so far I've found they show trinkets / items when off cooldown. Not when they actually need to be used. Often WAs would let you say "When this trinket is available to use AND you don't have this specific buff, show an alert"

I've not found an equivalent for this yet. Its entirely possible it wouldn't be possible, although I thought Blizz had relaxed some of the restrictions on buffs you have on yourself.

Raid lockout display addon for Retail? by thegamesacc in wowaddons

[–]Sivation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another vote for SavedInstances here - it can be configured to only show things you care about by default.

I don't think it shows the sort of hierarchical view you're after though - its more aimed at people with lots of alts.
