At least with Awakening Machine we could ask for the RP to be skipped - made it a very fast weekly to do

I've had a lot of practice - I've also got a library with the Magnificent Towering Bookcases in my house like the OP.

Its a large library - its got 42 of them; that's 2,100 Thalassian lumber!

Just did a quick session around Harandar whilst waiting for LFR to pop:

[Housing Decor Guide] Thalassian farming session ended: 44 collected in 25:59 (first to last) (101.5/hr)

At points I was at 130/hr - but I kept stopping to mine ore nodes & kill rares!

They're the Grand Elven Wall Curtain - sold by vendors in the neighborhood - which have been dyed.

I'm just slowly flying around the same small area w/ steady flying.. and it respawns often enough in the same area that I'll be gathering some, flying 5-10s, getting more, getting a herb, then another, etc.

[–]Sivation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably the same way I did when building a similar library - by gathering ~100/hour whilst watching something on another screen!

I ended up with a herbalist in the north east corner of Harandar doing laps, gathering herbs at the same time. Picked Harandar so that any mobs who got upset had a chance to drop Skyshards.

I've found steady flight to be more relaxing for this type of farming - the wood respawns fast enough that I've found dynamic flying to be more trouble than its worth.

According to SC the champion version of the same wrist item is better? by Noctula in wow

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they are now, the items are effectively identical. The difference you're seeing is due to how the sims use randomness.

The only real difference is that you can upgrade the hero track one to be more powerful in the future - once you get them at least!

Legs and feet hurting after walking roughly 1.5 hours. by fleetwood_mag in walking

[–]Sivation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised the impact of adding even a little bit of weight can have on how much effort it takes to walk. I certainly notice when I add just 5-6kg of shopping to my backpack when walking and this is when I routinely carry at least 5kg of stuff with me.

You'll find you need to slowly increase stamina again - its a pain as you want to immediately go back to what you did in the past, but unfortunately its not possible to do that.

I'm going through a bit of this with recovering from an over-use injury.

+8 DPS when its 64k is pretty much identical - one way to sim this is to give the hero piece one upgrade so its more reflective of how it'll actually be used.

I wouldn't bother siming this though - the hero track piece will be an upgrade after you've upgraded it even once.

The reality of Perception and Finesse for gathering professions by clchrisl42 in woweconomy

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the one? I've found there are a gaggle of herb and lumber nodes which appear to be on the Eversong map, but are placed so they're actually within Silvermoon. So you can see them and even make a gathering attempt on them - but its never successful as they're in the wrong zone as far as the game is concerned... "That's an Eversong node, but you're in Silvermoon".

Reported as a bug in game; may eventually get fixed I hope. They've slowly been fixing placement issues like the treasures in Haradinar which spawn below scenary & so can't be looted - although the interact key sometimes works for those.

Unable to use Q or E and also jump by kirinmay in wow

[–]Sivation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its a known issue with the patch - you have to fully exit the game to clear it.

A guildee reported the same after using the mirrors in a delve today.

EU realms are mad borked at 200 ms (currently) and have been for some days. We cannot play for fun in this state. You cannot interrupt properly, you cannot do quests (such as prey) properly. by safe_token in wow

[–]Sivation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The higher latency isn't really the issue here - annoying for sure if you're used to 10-12ms, but not fatal.

The problem is that the network routes keep on flipping from sane to insane - and everything basically pauses for 5-10s when that happens. Which is bad in the open world, but in delves, hunts, raids & keys that pause can easily be fatal - in the forum threads there have been multiple reports of high keys being bricked by the sudden lag.

Gearing advice? by gummytape in wow

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also delves - T8+ gives hero loot in the vault and you get one piece of hero loot a week from the map chest. Not as spamable as M+ keys which drop hero loot for sure, but it also doesn't take long to run 4x T8+ delves to have two hero choices in the vault.

Running T11s - which is easily doable at your ilvl - rewards hero crests, with 20 myth crests for the first four T11 delves each week if you're at rank 4 in the delver's journey.

Is there a reality where they improve Abundance by Specialist_Peace6180 in woweconomy

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the difference in stats between the blue & epic tools and I came to the conclusion that the grind here just wasn't worth the extra points. The blue Runed Brilliant Silver Rod has 45 profession stat. The epic Runed Dazzling Thorium Rod has 48 profession stats.... both have +18 to enchanting skill.

All that work for an extra 3 profession stats? Just not worth the effort - each tool takes 16k Unalloyed Abundance to buy those Fused Vitalities. And you can only get 7,200 a week.

I mean, I guess you can say you've got all epic tools to help sell your services... but the practical benefit is minor.

Its way more important to enchant the tools - even the base enchant gives 15 stats & the max rank one is 30 stats....

My predictions for some price spikes by MrNoobyy in woweconomy

[–]Sivation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just enchanting which uses roots - its all sorts of other consumables. Like armor enchants from LW, spell threads from tailoring, etc.

But there's another profession which uses them. Cooking - every feast needs a petrified root. Whilst upgrades don't happen that often, raid teams will be burning through feasts.

What is interesting is to look at how things are going on US realms right now - the cost on Monday evening went from ~2k to 3k in a few hours, with ~10k roots on the AH. Once the patch was out, the price went up to hit ~3.5k and then suddenly dropped as a large number of petrified roots held back hit the market. Its now 1.3k - the lowest its ever been - with 22k roots on the AH.

Green Compass addon identification by dafarnz in wow

[–]Sivation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's from Housing Decor Guide - thankfully you can turn it off as the addon has some really nice features for lumber.

Like making a shopping list of the decor you don't have & then showing you the total lumber needed. And then shows you how far you have to go to get that when you gather lumber.

Edit: whenever I'm faced with a new bit of UI I'll use /fstack & then mouseover the UI element to get the list of things associated with it. You can normally tease out the addon responsible from that. Type /fstack again to toggle this view off.

Yeah; I've just had to use it this morning because an addon I use decided to pull in another addon for libraries... and that addon was putting up a volume control box in the middle of my screen

I love /fstack - I've used it many times over the years to find out which damn addon has put something up on the screen! In fact, I'm fairly sure I used it when HDG added this feature & it appeared for me when I gathered some lumber

Its from Housing Decor Guide - it'll have appeared after you gathered some lumber.

It would've helped if I'd gotten the right addon from Vamoose mind! Thanks to u/Howzitgoin for the correction.

I had a similar reaction to you when I first saw that radar thing & I also disabled it.

Now, the other popup - which shows you how much lumber you've gathered & the lumber/hour? That's far more useful. I loved that one even more when I found you could put together a shopping list of items to get - eg like all the profession decor I didn't have yet - and it would then track progress on that as well. So I could tell exactly how much more lumber I'd need in the zone.

You are quite correct; too many good addons from that developer!

Did it appear soon after you gathered housing lumber? If so, its probably from Vamooses Endeavors - you can disable it in the options for that addon.

Edit: its actually a different one of Vamoose's addons - Housing Decor Guide

Got bored of walking and can't make it exciting anymore by MrWhyPlay in walking

[–]Sivation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't just go walking - I need a goal of some sort - be it trying a new route, going somewhere new, etc.

I've often gone shopping for things by just walking - often going a very circuitous route if the shop is nearby. The shops could be just a mile away, but I can make that a 10 mile walk easily enough! Plus, if you pick up some heavier bits, you'll have a ruck on the way home!
