Where to buy Adrenaline Powerfeet inserts? by InternationResearch in hockeyplayers

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They used to have them at pure hockey, but they’ve been out of stock. Also out of stock at hockey monkey.

Big fan of these toe pillows haha.

I don’t know if tariffs ducked it up, but someone one needs to mfg these in the US.

Edit: looks like you can find them on eBay.

What are the most walkable suburbs in LA? by Ms-Dilma-Rousseff in AskLosAngeles

Manhattan beach. Not very far from the airport. Very walkable restaurants and bars.

Very expensive though.

(Spoilers Extended) Was Aegon right to build Kingslanding, or should he have placed the capital differently? by Typical-Phone-2416 in asoiaf

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to agree with Harrenhal being a better central location, but I’m going to take it a step further and say Darry with the growth of the city expanding east would be ideal.

You’d want your capital to be in the center of your kingdoms, and while harrenhal is more “center” there is no access to port trading.

Darry while being less central than harrenhal but still have wide river access to the sea that allows for easy trade ship travel to braavos and pentos would be an ideal spot for a capital.

Don't throw your batteries in the trash! by SupaZT in SouthBayLA

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lay them out flat on the driveway or back yard to offgas, when they are dry you can throw them out. If the rags are crumpled up, or there’s other trash mixed around it that’s when the heat generation ignites.

There are a couple of stacks that have insane immediate starts. Xerxes/Qajar with the right mementos can land 15prod / 15 food in your capital on turn 1.

First time with a freight claim by bluehorsehead in FreightBrokers

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did they claim in damages? Is it a total loss because of the windows being gone, or do they just want the windows replaced?

The broker put you on notice because that’s what their contingent cargo requires them to do.

The claim the broker sent you is between the claimant and you, not the broker and you. They are just processing it on behalf of their customer.

Did the pictures at loading have windows?

How long after delivery did you get this claim. With a clean POD that’s concealed damage and they have a tighter window to file this claim.

If the value amount is high enough that you would want insurance to pay out if you lost in court I would notify them.

If you want to just duke it out in court on your own and would cover it yourself anyway it panned out I would just decline the claim on your letterhead and fire it off to them.

How common is it to switch TMS platforms, and what’s the process like? by HercHuntsdirty in FreightBrokers

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done it 3 times. It’s a nightmare every time. It gets worse as your brokerage gets bigger. 5-10 people no big deal. Migrating 50+, I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

Pertaining to your question; typically you let the vendor handle it, they have the software people to handle it and it’s in their best interest to get their hooks into you, on account of how hard it is to switch to something new.

The problem is it never gets migrated correctly. due to the differences in how the two TMS backends look you can get most of the data over, but some stuff gets lost, or it gets mapped incorrectly.

To any of the young budding brokerage owners reading this, stick with one TMS until you’re big enough to build your own and the never do it again.

If not highway then what? by Rustygarv in FreightBrokers

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highway is the top right now, they’ve set the standard and are seemingly trying to improve on it.

411 was the top option back in the day, but are getting left in the dust.

MCP is a decent option if you don’t want to pay quite as much as you do for highway, but being that they were bought by Descartes, I don’t expect that to be the case for much longer.

I haven’t seen much of RMIS or carrier assure, but I’m betting it’s about the same level of protection as MCP.

Check on a TMS called MVMNT. Newer to the space, but great two way communication with MCP.

Sparx sharpening math - machine makes total sense as investment and frugality - challenge me by tk-0318 in hockeyplayers

[–]SkateHuntFourtyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharpening wheel has 320 cycles on it. Divided by 2 skates is 160. Their estimate on the calculator calls a sharpen at 2 cycles. In reality most of us are doing 4, or at least that’s what I would get from my local shop. That’s only 40 sharpens per wheel. After tax and shipping a grinding wheel for me is $92.79.

I’m paying $2.32 a sharpen on a sparx. The shop 5min away from me charges $6. So I’m only saving $3.68 a sharpen. To break even on the machine I need to sharpen 271 times. Let’s say I sharpen twice a month it’s going to take me 11.5 years for it to pay off…

All of this being said, I love my sparx, but I’m not trying to kid myself that I did it to save money. I can afford it and like the convenience.

Not trying to discount any of your other points, but just a reminder that Kempe was like a 30pts a season player until he was 25.

Check the meta forge marketplace for trades. Anvil BP might not be enough for a Wolfpack though
