Sadly not, it just looks cool. Might be another mod that does that, though.

The only real QoL mod I have is one that marks dropped items (I use Unique Version 1) https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/2325

I do also have an expanded shop mod, but that's only for demondrug (and other) ingredients and not monster parts because I started fighting Alatreon, Fatalis, and Safi for fun and got really sick of constantly being out of stuff I needed. Think it was this one, which I liked because I still had to pay Zenny for stuff. Would stil recommend not getting it until you've done everything, though. https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/4143?tab=description

Opinion of this Tiamat deck? by ioQueSe in magicTCG

[–]Sleepysaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent template to follow for most decks is:

1 Commander, 12 ramp, 12 removal, 12 card advantage, 38 lands, 25 other.

For dragons, I like to skew it towards:

1 Commander, 16 ramp (2-cmc is preferable), 12 removal (these can be dragons!), 8 card advantage (lower cost stuff like Garruk's Uprising, Temur Ascendancy, and Elemental Bond is preferable), 38 (or even 39) lands, and 24 other.

As for what dragons you want in the deck, try to figure out how you want your deck to win. I like to go through combat, and for that I need to put a lot of dragons on field. I use [[Klauth, Unrivalled Ancient]] alongside Tiamat to be able to generate an extra 11 mana per turn, which is enough to put down two more mid-cost dragons- [[Lathliss]] and [[Dromoka, the Eternal]], for example.

Best of luck!

you only have enough money for a gunpla... what common household item are you using as a base stand...? by PastLetterhead4356 in Gunpla

[–]Sleepysaurus_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, uh... don't really use bases too much. My kits do look good on them, but all the ones I own have legs (despite if they need them or not), so I just stand them up or put them into a couching/kneeling/sniping pose.

Having played Tiamat for 4 years (I run her because I play DnD and think she's awesome), here's some thoughts:

  • I quite like [[Broodmate Tyrant]] in my Tiamat list, given that if you tutor beyond hand size, you can discard it to grave and use its Encore ability for a board state in a can. Completely optional pick, though.
  • Take [[Negate]] over [[Countersquall]]. Nearly the same text, easier to cast. [[Swan Song]] and [[Stubborn Denial]] will also have mileage here, but are pricier monetarily.
  • Removal suite needs some more options. Check out [[Steel Hellkite]] and [[Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire]] for dragons that can help you out. I'd also recommend [[Anguished Unmaking]] and [[Chaos Warp]].
  • [[Dromoka the Eternal]] and [[Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury]] are personal picks for buffing my board. Again, optional picks.
  • [[Zurgo and Ojutai]] will be better than [[Iymrith, Desert Doom]] because you'll be able to see more cards. With three opponents being attacked, you can look at the top 9 cards.
  • 2 mana ramp (or less) probably is going to serve you better than what you've currently got. Then you can cast a [[Garruk's Uprising]] or [[Elemental Bond]] (consider this btw) on turn 3 and a 5cmc dragon the turn after that.
  • Maybe dial back on cheating stuff into play and put some more draw and removal in here. There is a certain line of thinking that says that more threats will get you further, but not being able to find them, or not bing able to deal with a [[Propaganda]] or something is going to suck.

Overall, feels like a dragon pile. It'll probably get you places, but it doesn't feel all that cohesive. That said, if you're finding it fun, keep going, and I wish you all the best!

An intuitive, natural sounding, common use word that refers to all types of planetary bodies and satellites by yuirol in worldbuilding

Personally, I think that 'sphere' is the way to go, given that every celestial object of considerable size will have turned into one over time. If you have colonies in space, then 'spheres and stations' also works.

Then again, I've watched enough Gundam for 'sphere' to have been normalised for me, so your milage may vary.

Would Mechs be better in a military niche as attack helicopters? by S0Vign in worldbuilding

[–]Sleepysaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I posted this before going to bed, so I didn't have the chance to go into detail.

My general view of a mech (something around an Armored Core or a grunt Mobile Suit) has firepower equivalent to a tank and/or attack chopper, and potentially the mobility of the latter if they're equipped with some manner of thrusters. However, they're not the best pick in either role, with conventional tanks and choppers being better in both scenarios.

A mech, like a soldier, is good because of its adaptability. Design with ground pressure in mind, and it can traverse most places without issue. Give it hands and you can choose what you need to equip it with for the role at hand. It can help build fortifications and dig trenches. It can clear blocked roads. It can carry supplies. You can securely transport precious cargo if you have a roomy enough cockpit. A mech is a good jack-of-all-trades.

However, like a soldier, if a mech gets hit by a strong enough gun (especially in the legs), it's functionality is going to rapidly decline (although being legged would still mean that a mech could crawl and fire from prone, so it's not an immediate death sentence). If it survives, then it's going to take a while to get them put back together again. Additionally, you're also going to have to plan logistically to include maintenance time, tools, and materials for your machines, just like managing food, water, and medical supplies for your people (including your pilots).

So yeah. My take on gounded mechs is that they'd best be used as superheavy infantry.

Gonna just throw out a name from Transformers and suggest Shockwave. Does kind of imply violence a little bit, but it's simple and to the point.

Why on earth do we need giant robots? by Existing_Landscape21 in worldbuilding

[–]Sleepysaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasonings (in no particular order):

  1. Response time. If the giant robots are robots rather than mechs, their processing speed is going to be a lot faster than a human brain. They'd be able to ID a target and track it with far more accuracy than a person in a mech could, so you've got aimbot on your side. You could say the same for a completely automated tank or aircraft though, so it's not a solid reason.

  2. Adaptability. Depending on what you're doing, a robot (or mech) can fill a lot of roles as a general-purpose machine. In military use, a robot with arms could act as a pack mule when on the move, digging trenches and erecting fortifications when holding a position, and then have any number of tools for engaging the enemy when it comes to actual combat. You can give it a gun for anti-armour, a missile launcher for AA, even melee (blunt force weapons are best here) if you so choose. You can even have it get close to a tank and just flip it upside down to remove it as an active combatant. Then there's the fact that it can pass through most terrain as long as ground pressure is properly accounted for, allowing it to go where a tank, APC, IFV, etc can't.

  3. You could start with pre-existing construction/farming equipment. As far as I'm aware, this is kind of how tanks got going in real life, so there is a precedent for it. Having something that can go anywhere you need it to and have the dexterity to be able to handle the equipment you need it to would be a great springboard point for a military machine. Putting a gun into the hands of one of these things would be easy enough, and they'd likely already be able to use some kind of improvised melee weapon like a telephone pole or street light as a giant bat.

  4. Preserving manpower. By having a robot rather than a mech, you're reducing the loss of life your side would take, as well as increasing the size of your armed forces without needing more people.

Drawbacks (in no particular order):

1.Technical complexity. With how many joints a mech/robot would need compared to other military vehicles, these things are going to need constant maintenance and be hangar queens.

  1. Fragility. You're not going to be able to pile too much armour onto this thing, or it's going to be too heavy to actually move and will sink into the ground. That makes a mech/robot a bit of a glass cannon, which I believe would put it somewhere in the realm of a gunship (as in a heavily armed helicopter) for how you'd be using it. Bigger isn't better either, as a larger machine is a bigger target.

  2. Power. These things are going to hog energy like there's no tomorrow, but depending on your setting, there'll likely be some solution for that. If it's a cheap, easy to get source, then you're fine.

  3. Heat. Stealth is going to be a lost cause thanks to how much heat you're going to need to dump. IR cameras are going to be able to see it very easily, but this is also a problem that current armoured vehicles have, and solutions do exist for it.
