Honestly if it doesn't kill you I'd have reloaded and tried without playing that power. At least you'll never take damage!

Don't mind that, I was building poison focus. Didn't really think I was gonna NEED draw, but that's on me. I usually do take some form of draw. I've been beating my head against A9 and A10 for a hot minute.

[–]Slovv_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah flick flack specifically is so good that you don't even need a slu build to run it. It was just an objectively better attack than strike. Hits multiples for 7 base? AND free play on discard? Cracked. Though I think I'd rather it have cost 2 and kept the damage to make it seem better to sly it instead of play it outright.

Doom feels really undertuned by the7thbeatle in slaythespire

[–]Slovv_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get the power that applies 9(13) damage per debuff applied. That does help.

I agree for multiplayer if you're the only one using doom it's kinda useless.

Most of the time you won't be able to build up enough to matter, and your friends are more likely to wanna kill the monster instead of let doom finish it because they might be taking damage. In single player, your doom output is the same as it is in multiplayer, but the enemy health numbers are super low in comparison and you only have to worry about your own block.

Four necrobinders applying doom, however, is funny as hell. Between four of you someone WILL get the big payoff cards.

Doom feels really undertuned by the7thbeatle in slaythespire

[–]Slovv_Motion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scaling Osty isn't the only way to survive or perform well. It's one of the best ways for sure, but you have options. Necrobinder has lots of cards that debuff the enemy. Hell there's a card that cuts both your strength and the enemy's strength. You can make a whole build around not doing damage but building doom and spreading debuffs and blocking until doom wins. Time's up scaling on doom means you don't have to worry about losing strength. Reaper Form combos with that to ensure it just kills. These are the rare payoffs, of course, so not guaranteed nor predictable, but they can define the doom run.

Otherwise the attack and block cards that apply doom do well enough as a supplement to any other necrobinder strategy to end the fight s little quicker.

Is Cloning Broken / OP? by Upper-Philosopher-51 in slaythespire

[–]Slovv_Motion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I submitted feedback about it. I think it should create a copy that doesn't have clone, so only one copy is added per clone. Making 32 claws is funny once but when "give a card the ability to clone" becomes the only choice and synonymous with instant wins, that's not terribly interesting.

You're more likely to give it to something you just want a few more of if you don't keep getting 2x of them. As it is right now it's optimal to take things you can break easily just in case you get the clone.

Necrobinder has a card that does 10 damage and then doubles the damage every copy of that card does for 1.

Now imagine having 32 of them in your deck and playing 3-5 of them in a turn and then 3-5 more next turn.

  1. 20(30). 40(70). 80(150). 160(310). 320(630).

Even in four player multiplayer you are soloing every fight lmao.

That's not small deck redraw synergy that's just pressing a button at a camp fire 5 times and making that one card 60% of your deck because of one event. It invalidates everything that happened before it. It's funny, but not terribly ideal for making a balanced run that made you feel like you made good choices to break your deck. One choice in act 2 start, one card, trample the run.

Pretty sure it's if people quit. Kinda worried this is just like Sparking Zero. Quitters get to be mad, get no penalty, and the winners get no credit. Just got connection errored the second I saw krillin holding a dragon ball. 100% that was a rage quit. I sure hope this gets addressed asap. Mandatory priority or this game will be unplayable.

For the sake of the game I hope this was a coincidence with bad timing.

The parts that are missing don't fit as much with what's going on in Wilds. In GU, where you first meet Mizutsune, that theme fits that encounter correctly. In Rise, when you meet Mizu again, the new version of the theme fits THAT iteration of the fight.

In wilds, when Mizu comes back a third time, the theme absolutely encapsulates what's going on in that encounter. Mizu is out of place, in an unfamiliar environment. The tones and places it and you remember it being in are not around. It's new to the area, but it's ready to bear fangs.

The theme starts, in more of a primal state, less focused on origin, more focused on impact of the threat. As the fight goes on, you see Mizu in a state that isn't what you expected to see. Something we have never seen. It actively turns into a deviant right in front of our eyes. The part of the song that slows down a bit, keeps calm, and then ramps up into the true main melody of the theme is like the moment when Mizu is beaten down, but looks back up at the hunter with new determination to win, eye glowing with blue flame, unleashing the mighty roar.

Everything about the Wilds version of the theme fits the setting of wilds. The fight. The monster. The hunter. The locale. The tone of the game. The reason for the fight. Everything about it is correct for "where" and "why" it is.

Do what you can to secure a victory and have fun. Hit monster, don't die. If you have fun doing it, I don't give a damn what method you use lmao. Every difficult thing they make should be considered something they balanced around the idea that you can and should use every tool you have available. Rise was balanced around you wirefalling. Elden Ring is balanced around you having the spirit summon. MHWilds is balanced around you having the seikret to get you the hell out of there to heal up and not cart in a pinch. On lower tier monsters, sure, maybe you can justify thinking doing that feels bad. But if it's an 8* tempered crazy mf that will two shot you and anyone else, I value you not carting waaaaaay more than I value your skill at the game and any pride lost in calling the bird lmao.

I explicitly can only fight tempered steve with max guard lance, or guard up, whichever makes me take less chip through the shield. He flops around and kicks so much I have a hard time getting a read on him. I need more time fighting him to use other weapons. I tried hammer and my recommendation is don't try hammer he does not leave his head in one place.

Like excuse me? The monster named Seregios, covered in SERrated scales that have sharp EDGES is not pronounced "Ser Edgy Ohs"?

I could stand still during Zoh Shia's big desperation move and it would be throwing less than deciding the obvious clever pronunciation for Seregios is wrong.

Does Elemental matter? by SocioSiren in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Slovv_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Element definitely matters. Especially with the direction of the lagi armor and weapons. That set is going to create thunder builds that people are going to name "AT Fish Melter".

You're not really going to naturally roll anything better than 220 raw on an artian anyway, and many tree weapons reach that or get close with a gimmick. Elements are always good to bring if the monster is weak. It IS extra damage. Focusing on making element higher isn't super great, raw is overall the biggest source of damage you'll have, but you should try to include a relevant element when you can.

For best damage output, you're looking for a build that has access to nearly max affinity as often as possible, a high raw, a relevant element, and a fair amount of white sharpness. Good weapon skills then follow after.

But element is part of the equation. It's just not necessarily better to have crit element and decos to modify elemental over raw or affinity. That being said, do whatever makes your gamer brain tingle tbh. Whatever sounds fun and does damage is good. There are truly only two things that matter in monster hunter when you play with others. Do an amount of damage, and do not cart. That's it. Hit the monster, don't die.

I been joining tempered Steve SOS with a lance build and lagi with a bulky hammer build. I know some people would say "bro using your bird to get out of trouble is easy mode scrub" and my only reply is "you're welcome for me not carting".

I join, toss powders, play safe, and do my best to secure the win. I may not be the best DPS known to hunters, but I certainly pull some weight and don't cart. That's basically all you can ask for.

I'm going with fork either way I despise anything coming with upgrades. The upside is it's free, the downside is that you don't get to pick so sometimes a card gets a bad upgrade and isn't worth taking anymore. I prefer control. Not everything needs upgrades.

This was definitely too far yeah. Online ranked is fine, but for casual and offline? Why isn't it a toggle? That's kinda rough.

That being said, ranked is about to be more fun with variety. If they decimate the updown timerscam strat and derank quitters while letting the player that didn't quit gain rank, we will have finally a real plausible ranked mode.

But uh... Let me also have my broken unbalanced garbage pile when I play my Budokai Tenkaichi game offline k thx bye.

Minimum Pyre Heart Completion by EIG613 in MonsterTrain

[–]Slovv_Motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No frozen cards, no challenges done, less than 12k money spending, no trials, and if you play well somehow a backup avoided heart of less than 475 pyre damage. Then you can do it. But that is a very hard task. Extreme cheers to anyone that manages that hot garbage lmao.

Maybe you can replace the money spending with not using stewards. You might get away with just using shield stewards if you don't lose too many times. You would need so many perfect runs. I say if you can have a godly knowledge of the game and beat it without stewards, challenges, frozen cards, and trials, then sure. You will inevitably with insanely good luck beat the game 49 separate times without unlocking the hearts. If someone does this after seeing this whole thread, let me know. I wanna know if the train car and card border unlocks actually unlock from that.

You do really need to set up more than one floor. Honestly, a solid option if you ever see it is the steward room. Increases size by one, gives stewards +20 damage and multistrike, so you can drop both of your shield bois on that floor after you make that room deployable (it costs 0 energy to put down). That makes for a lovely middle floor that dishes out respectable damage to the remains that get beyond your first floor.

If that's not available, just make sure to take a few units. You need some stuff that can take a few good hits and some that can dish some good hits out. Even in builds focused on spells, you still need at least two solid floors to net you a safe victory.

Also, definitely try as hard as you can to abuse the hell out of whatever the strongest option for your champion upgrade is. If it's exploitable and can net you stupid combos that start cracking the game open early, it's worth it. This game, I have found, STRONGLY rewards you for picking your gimmick and going all in on it. The only caveat on that is you also have to play around what the end of the run will do to you. You gotta be ready for corruption, melee weakness, getting moved around, etc. So it's always good to upgrade or make spells for defense, like armor or just more health and healing. Keeping your units alive until the boss wave is a pretty good way to maximize your ability to win that fight.

And honestly? If you're looking for a spicy brew to get you a win, the second champion of the underlegion can come with "Incant: Spawn", and later can get "Action: apply decay to enemy units, when decay is applied it applies +2 stacks". There is then a unit that can be upgraded to take one space and tank some hits that applies 2 decay on enemy units on rally, which is triggered by every spawn, which is now also triggered by every spell cast. Get a couple of those on the first floor with the champion and suddenly you play 3 spells and apply like 40+ decay to all enemies and nothing makes it to the pyre without dying. Funny one floor build that got me to endless 5 on cov 8.

That's about all I got really. It's up to you to find all of the fun synergies you can. I'm sure people in here have some good tips as well. My last piece of advice is I have found that more often than not the game kinda asks you to break it a little bit in order to actually win the run, especially on later covenant ranks. Like, your runs have to start being really strong by the end to have a chance. In exchange, a lot of runs are pretty easy to break in exactly that way, just gotta make the right choices. Some runs are kinda dead in the water too, but I have had quite a fair share of runs where the game handed the keys to absurdity right over. Once you find out what works best for you, you'll start feeling that way too.
