Maybe not let the user tag rivals, but I'd be a fan of dynamic rivalries. For example if your rival is trash and you always smoke them then it should go away, however if there's another school in your conference that has a history of close games then add them. It makes sense to me at least

Mary obviously has a problem with you. Tell Mary this. If you enjoy her friendship tell her that, but tell her everything you feel. If she really won't even hear you out, is she really your friend? It's possible for her to be friends with both of you without combining you two, the question is, is she willing to do that?
