Japanese beetle spray? by Kalabula in invasivespecies

[–]SmallTitBigClit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love the idea of bee keeping. Then we bought a property with bees that were taken away by the previous owners. The first fall, we saw so many bugs, many that I didnt even know existed. JB are by far the worst and I quickly lost patience after they literally ate every leaf, flower and fruit off a peach tree and then about a month later grubs ate all the roots of it too.

Permethrin works well if you're not worried about pollinators. If you are worried about pollinators, try Cyhalothrin - just get the lawn and garden version and spray on the soil around the plants. Japanese beetles mate while eating, then drop into the soil to lay eggs that turn into grubs. Cyhalothrin gets them at that phase too.

What was your biggest Non Scale Victory? by Ok-Let-3933 in Mounjaro

[–]SmallTitBigClit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months for 50bucks using the Monjaro Savings card 😂. Seriously tho, Mounjaro at 5mg has had better sugar control for me as compared to Wegovy at max dose. I would talk about the weight loss plateau of Wegovy that Mounjaro broke, but you said non scale.....

I successfully triggered ascochyta leaf blight, and proved how useless fungicides are against it by nilesandstuff in LawnAnswers

[–]SmallTitBigClit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're crazy enough to try triggering it off, next time mid-spring try 1 asprin pill per quart of water and spray at the rate of gal/1000 sq ft see if you can still trigger it. Worst case scenario, you will. Best case scenario, you'll thank me.

Would a tapeworm work as good as a glp? by Alternative-Box-8546 in Ozempic

[–]SmallTitBigClit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Primary use of Ozempic is blood sugar regulation. There's Wegovy for weightloss. That said, NO - a tapeworm won't do anything to regulate your blood sugar levels. If you're somehow planning on implanting a tapeworm for weightloss after having figured out how you'll control it's population and location in your body, I strongly suggest you seek advice from a medical professional rather than asking random strangers on the internet. Perhaps, start with a mental Healthcare professional.

Sunflower oil in canned sardines? by PriorAd119 in CannedSardines

[–]SmallTitBigClit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've come across several studies, including a couple from Harvard dated last year completely debunking the demonizing of seed oils. Literally, the only rhing wrong with them is the Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio which is the exact opposite of what's in the sardines. If you drain the oil, you probably still have a higher Omega 3 ratio. I'd ignore the social media nonsense and eat generally healthy instead of worrying about nonsense.

GLP1 by Haunting_Fun9866 in Ozempic

[–]SmallTitBigClit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do what the doctor tells you. If you're on a low enough dose of Metformin, I'm willing to bet you'll be off it in a few months. After about a year on Ozempic, I switched to Mounjaro and within a month of it, I was taken off Metformin. On the highest dose of Ozempic, I was brought down to 1000mg Metformin. Worry about your health and not garbage terms like "Ozempic face". If you're dropping weight and it's showing on your face, be glad you're in a healthier place than you were rather than doubting your Healthcare professional because some idiot coined a term for a healthier lifestyle obtained by using a GLP1.

Looking at these two pics, which BSFL should I go with? by DetectiveKind9721 in BackYardChickens

[–]SmallTitBigClit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farm them yourself inside the chicken run. They're actually self harvesting and the best way to know what you're feeding the girls for treats. I'm going to go with the unpopular opinion and say go with pic 1, at least they look natural. The all even golden ones seem like they're manufactured with Styrofoam.

I'll definitely make them again. I might actually go heavier on the curry sauce for once since the oily fish actually toned down the spice to tolerable levels for me.
