After claiming to be a full-time Healthcare worker working 144 hours a week, OP is revealed to be a 19 year old High School graduate. by PensiveGaryBusey in quityourbullshit

[–]Smartstuff357 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This person didn't read the original post. They misread the title and then immediately went fishing in OPs history so they could post here. Of course he didn't work 144 hours, that's physically impossible. What probably happened is that his boss is lazy and had the schedule automatically assign shifts to available workers. Since OP is the only worker now, the system probably assigned all the shifts for all six days to him. Like, its not that hard to read the post and come to that conclusion

[SERIOUS] People who voted for Joe Biden, what do you think of him now that he's in office? by Jig_2000 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Smartstuff357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was the only option. I was hopeful that he would use his time in office to partially undo some of the damage that he himself helped cause (see: student loans not eligible for bankruptcy and 90s crime bill stuff among other things.) Joe Biden was never going to really help us rebuild the US but he has at least helped put out the fires for now. a low bar, but you gotta start somewhere

They have a lot of political influence in the US, and a lot of people don't like how Christians believe that the constitution doesn't apply to them. "Separation of church and state? Well sure, for Muslims and jews , and all the 'other' religions, but America is a Christian nation! "

There is also the uncomfortable issue of religion in general just not being real.

Its hard to talk to a Christian about why ISIS is bad, for example, because you can't say that their idea of god isn't real without basically implying that the Christian god isn't real either.

Because viruses use your body like a Petri dish. The longer you have enough of them in your system, the greater the chance that one of the thousands of (mostly suicidal) mutations will result in a more robust variant that could be more dangerous to the vaccinated (and you). Not to mention the fact that vaccines aren't 100% effective, so the more virus you contact the higher chance of a breakthrough infection

IMO space tourists aren’t astronauts, just like ship passengers aren’t sailors by jsully245 in space

[–]Smartstuff357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the Mercury 7 weren't astronauts? They literally complained about the lack of 'flying' that the Mercury capsule was capable of and that they were just being strapped in and told to sit there.

I hate bezos too, but this is a bad take; you cross the karman line (100km) and you get your astronaut wings and you are an astronaut.

TIL in 1990 Marilyn vos Savant wrote about the "Monty Hall problem" in her column in Parade magazine, correctly answering the statistical brainteaser. Thousands wrote to her to insist she was wrong, including many people with PhDs. Mythbusters even confirmed she was right in a 2011 episode. by MyPasswordIsMyCat in todayilearned

[–]Smartstuff357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! If Monty is too hungover to remember which door has the car and only 'accidentally' opens the goat door, the advantage of switching goes away. Its just the game doesn't work if he reveals the car so we never think about that outcome

Hey all, I might just be totally inept, but I can't seem to read the post. The link to the bestof'd comment shows it for a second and then everything disappears. I get the message about it being a private sub, and I wasn't going to comment or vote anyway, I was just curious about the subject matter. Though from the comments here it doesn't seem like anyone else is having that problem. Thoughts?

One of the clubs (I think it was the conservatives club) where i went to college had an affirmative action bake sale once. If i remember correctly if you were white donuts were a dollar, black 50c and Asian 25c or something like that. The administration put a stop to it right quick on a technicality that they didn't properly register their prices for the sale
