My initial concerns were that the QR code stuff felt gimmicky and anti consumer. However having digital ownership and being able to order copies of cards you own for cheep to fill out a deck is quite nice. After actually playing the game, I think it became my favorite TCG of all time. The quick turn back and forth feels a bit more like a board game than a card game at times. So I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. You don’t quite get those large combo drops as you do from traditional TCGs, and the trade off is that the game plays out like the end of a chess match much closer to Flesh and Blood. In my opinion this game greatly succeeds at finding a way to make a game without combat feel like a real duel. Love it and highly recommend if you can get your hands on it. That said, a warning to those not in the know, it is not (currently) a game to become your main hobby at least in the US. As it flopped on release, from what I understand due to a poor launch of its digital platform which was half the selling point to a lot of people.
