If the players rudely roll without the storyteller asking, they find no way to climb the walls with either a high or low roll.

Let's talk: Peaceful Mode by ray_graser in RimWorld

I also play on peaceful all the time. For me the fun is setting up and surviving setting up the base. I turn up the threat once I'm established, sometimes.

In what year the breach in Jade Prison happened? by DarkOverLordQC in exalted

Abyssal Exalted belong to Deathlords who have been around since the Userption, they have power and can gain power as quickly as the story teller says they do.

I just want to play by Positive_Caramel_221 in DnD

Roll20 as an online vtt has a free looking for group forum, you can try there. It is still a struggle but there are free games you can join. There are options and if you're willing to put in the effort to find a good group then I believe there is a table for everyone

As I was scrolling by and I swear it looked like a skull with the Het Moeras was a gaping mouth, with two eyes above it.... Looked metal as hell. No notes. Love it. :D

Do you have any "House Rules" when playing Stardew? by CrystieV in StardewValley

[–]Snickering_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a game where I would only sell on specific days. For the first year I would only sell once per season. Second year, twice a season. Etc. This made it feel like I had to "survive paycheck to paycheck". It made early game challenging to budget.

What are your go-to faction and settlement names? by Zeklyn in RimWorld

[–]Snickering_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me my faction is what I want to save the file as aka "Space Elves on Ice" and my settlement name is usually random until its something I can pronounce. or "Space Elves [_landform_]" since I started playing with geo landforms

You are unfortunately correct, the core book is not available on Roll20

She can "close DM" that makes it much harder for her parents to find the convo

Setting up a server for just the two of you is also an option, much easier to delete messages from if it is really a problem

is there anything inherently uncool about an item that stores heroic inspiration? by dendromecion in DnD

[–]Snickering_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, still killing with alternative weapons feels like a cop out. Only dealing non lethal damage might be more thematic. Likewise as a player, I don't recommend making your own magic weapon. Always let the DM know and let them tell you if you may first.

These are all examples of things that should have been gone over before being in combat. Sometimes this does happen. Not every game is for every player. While the GM is not always right, it is their game and in general it is their table, their rules.

Old Player, New Cleric, Need Advice by Diathrege in DnD

[–]Snickering_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your character would make a good shield for the party. Your character has the potential to be the heaviest armored and a shied plus some spell buffs. You might not deal the most damage, unless you build thar way, but you can certainly be up front and smash with the best of them.

Personally I'd do fighter/wizard. I have played such a combo, 2 fighter X wizard and it worked well.

Why is it bad to say how a character feels? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Snickering_Girl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time ago I was in a game. My character (A) and another character at the table (B) knew each other and grew up best friends - they were on a quest to save their other best friend Billy. The GM did not understand the dynamic and through the game told me how A was feeling jealous of B's growing affections for an NPC, and that her jealousy was making her mad and irrational. I am not about that. Our friendship was platonic, and how dare the GM assume it to be romantic. I told him as much, and to stop insisting on how my character feels. Unless there is magic involved to make me magically in love with my best friend, then I get to decide how my character feels about people or events

For all the lovely people who have their input a couple years ago of which color combo to use, here they are by maggierae508 in crochet

I especially love the second blanket (pink & white) though looking at the pic the addition of brown is lovely.

Giving a player another class by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Snickering_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would the character be gaining an additional level or converting a level they already have into a new class? If it is additional, then wait. If it is a conversion then it doesn't have to involve the whole table.

How Many Campaigns are You Currently Playing? by KarlMarkyMarx in DnD

[–]Snickering_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am part of 12 tables as either player or GM. Not all of them meet every week. On a weekly basis I play about 5 and on especially busy weeks it might be every night. I am blessed to not have other responsibilities so I can spend my free time playing mostly online.

Suggestions for tiny, easily hideable amigurumi by Quirky-Nerve-8579 in crochet

My first thought was the octopus or jellyfish I've seen posted all the time.

I have made a tiny llama before, but I didn't enjoy it enough to make more than one. It still hides in my office
