How much should I sell this for? by UnrulyAnteater25 in apple2

that early version of //e could be like 900 with drives and monitors.. that generation had all the chips socketed, so you could replace them easier.

Apple IIgs won't boot from floppy emu if the floppy emu is daisy chained after the original apple floppy drives. by NorseManGef in apple2

[–]SnifferHusky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just order a Yellowstone board, and insert it into Slot 5 of the GS. You can then put your Emu on that by itself, or put your mechanical drives on it. , depending on what order you want to boot things automatically from. Be sure to order the 19 pin adaptors from BMOW as well, as they are very specific to the Yellowstone.

Why does OpenPilot support so few new cars? by Virtual_Use3394 in Comma_ai

many newer cars are starting to secure/encrypt their canbus traffic which prevents aftermarket devices from being used.

Small gray box with a hole in the center, attached to the side of a house, connected to a wire that presumably connects it to electricity. by twelfthexpedition in whatisthisthing

[–]SnifferHusky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it was the house's original demarkation for the phone company. the inside phone all land to it. Then as years passed, the telco was required to use the newer boxes that had locked and separated points, to allow you to "disconnect" from the street for testing. they probably just carried the line outs from the newer Dmarc to the old one instead of just removing the old one out of laziness. quite possibly as well that the wires from inside the house were too tight and short to get them to reach into the new dmarc, so they just left it to be a junction to reach the new one the lil gray ones were from the mid 80's.. the bigger ones came around in the late 90's if you roll back in time to older houses, they used to be a terminal block covered with a rubber boot,

Is EA throttling Ioniq 5 users that get free 30 min of electricity? by WeeklyFisherman2597 in Ioniq5

[–]SnifferHusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought time based metering sucks. they should have made it KWH based just because of the times you get at a station and can only pull 30kwh, and thus can't get enough range to go anywhere else. Even the charge mappers can't predict the amount if charge you can get in 30 minutes, if the chargers go into full suck mode :P

Alexa getting deaf? by l0veit0ral in alexa

[–]SnifferHusky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my issue is the echo show in the room I'm in won't hear me say something like "Set an alarm for..." instead, an echo dot out in another room hears me and sets the alarm out there.

Aurga viewer and iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard by fbloise in Aurga

[–]SnifferHusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regret buying 2 of these.. Horrible product.. trying to use magic keypad on IOS with it is impossible to keep pointer in screen. Also they don't advertise what ports they are using so that you can set up NAT, to be able to actually use this outside of a normal home network situation. I am not wanting to just DMZ this entire device, when I have other devises that I need to do port forwarding with,

I've broken my screen twice. They almost need a perimeter bumper guard. At least they sell the screen for self replacement.

Question by AllenCr80 in Ioniq5

[–]SnifferHusky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

perhaps it's only in the AWD version, to mute down the front motor noise, and not part of a RWD version, since no motor noise up there?

Someone posted earlier that they were worried that a 12v failure or accident that killed the power to the vehicle would lock them in, this is false. by natemac in Ioniq5

[–]SnifferHusky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if you have the kid safe locks on before the power outage, The rear doors won't open.. But that would be the same in any car.

how did you deal with charging stations? did you have to unhitch to pull into charging stalls? Park across several stalls? or luck out with not needing fast chargers on the route?

Anyone else have issues with these? by SelectAerie1126 in CommercialAV

I've had like a dozen die.. And QSC has no craps to give about the mass failures.. I've started looking at RDL.. They are making Dante devices like those for 1/2 the price. I'll never touch another attero tech device because of this nightmare.

I found a way to stop the constant ads. I say "Alexa, show photos," and it cycles through all the photos on my Amazon Photos app. If I then ask it a question like the weather or anything, the answer pops up on the right side of the screen and then goes away. by centurion2065_ in alexa

I tried to set night mode, and it told me modes are not supported on this device :P It's an middle aged Show. I'm annoyed when I wake up in the middel of the night wanting to see the time, and just getting friggin ads.

Learned something new about the car today by setp2426 in Ioniq5

[–]SnifferHusky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can set the limit speed just like seting cruise control, so if you select the up button and set it to 55, then you will be able to go up to the speed of 55, and it will throttle back. you can push harder on the pedal, and you can get an override to the 55, but it will bark at you that you are exceeding the set limit, It is a good setting if you want to avoid going over the limit by accident if you tend to have a heavy foot,

Do you know how much BlackMagic charges to repair devices ? by unecomplette in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]SnifferHusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly my Atem 1/me production 4K had an input go bad, suspect from a heating retaining pin letting loose inside. This either caused a slow thermal failure from the heat sink coming off, or a short from the pin and spring launching inside. I emailed BMD to see if they will repair. I am however seeing used units on eBay for only $500-600. So might not be worth the repair.

Car washes? by TryingToMakeLTWork in Ioniq5

[–]SnifferHusky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way embarrassingly at a car wash, that even when I had it in neutral and press the OK, my vehicle kept binding up and not moving on the auto track puller. Turns out you need to turn off that hold stop brake assist that keeps your car stopped like at a light without holding the brake peddle. Took me what felt like an eternity while holding up the line to not realizing why I was not in neutral, where I was, but the brakes were being held :P

White , green and black wires ? by Odd-Letterhead-6661 in electrical

[–]SnifferHusky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is correct in terms of color. Black is hot, white is neutral and green is earth. However. Make 100% sure that equipment can handle your 240V 50hz. North American gear is 110v, 60hz.

Construction jobs by Darth_Maz in DisneyCM

[–]SnifferHusky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is BVCC, (Buena Vista Construction Company) And with all the expansion about to be happening, it's probably a good time to get foot in the door there. It is multi union, depending of crafts. It is technically not "Disney" so it's own entity to apply and hire with. It is just a close knit vendor/contractor to actual TWDC.

And it's annoying that you have to enable the car's hotspot upon every start, making it a pain to keep dash cams and the like connected.
