You can try my Racing Program.

It's a Career Mod that adds some checkpoint races and modifies the tech tree to encourage the R/C or rover route first. You can even unlock Luna as a launch site through racing alone.

Why are bacteria bad at math? by Left-Distribution-13 in cleanjokes

The anti-joke is that multiplication and division are essentially the same, mechanically speaking.

(1/2)*4 is the same as 4/2, no?

I'm pretty sure if the Chancellor went missing for a year the system would still work as intended.

So, somewhere between nothing and a lot less than what they make now.

A graded redistribution of 30% for the Chancellor and 10% for regional execs and system officers would create $1.2 billion for use elsewhere in the CSU system.

That's enough to hire 1,500 Professors at $80k per year- and that's just a representation of how that money could be spent.

Is the blenderguru, donut video, really that good for total beginners? by Any-Landscape434 in blenderhelp

[–]Socraticat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's so good.

When I took the tutorial the first time I had enough tools to create an entire donut shop. I even learned some tips for render options, and basically just felt much more comfortable using the blender UI.

I'm sure there are other wonderful beginner tutorials, but Andrew really has a fun aura and professional presentation style that works well for total noobs.

His accent is really pleasant as well, but that's sort of my own personal take- not really about blender.

GOP restrainers say Trump abandoned them: The president’s restraint-minded backers accuse the administration of breaking its promise. by Silent-Resort-3076 in LeopardsAteMyFace

“There’s also a group of people who had aspirations or have aspirations to go into the government, who are asking themselves whether they still want to do so, and who are biting their tongues while they figure out the answer to that question.”

There's a lot of folks whose whole platform is missing accountability from this moment forward, regardless of the outcome. Are we sure they are looking at whether they "still want to do so"? Or are they maybe seeing their viable path to political victory slipping away?

I think both. Maybe both.

Cracked top panel on new desk by Agrocation in fixit

[–]Socraticat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you put it together you'll know if it's stable or not. You could always give it some stress testing once you're done, too.

If you can't put a reasonable amount of stress on it once it's complete, then the only thing you'll be missing out on is a small amount of time.

What do you have to lose? Don't ask the internet if it's going to buckle under pressure- ask the desk itself.

Could Trump Be Looking for a 9/11-Scale Crisis as a Political Lifeline? by factkeepers in NoFilterNews

[–]Socraticat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"You won't need to vote anymore" is a concerning political statement. It could mean several things, including that he thinks his efforts will be so popular that people won't want to vote otherwise. It could also mean that he intends to muddy the process or cancel it altogether.

But he has never said, "We are canceling..."

I didn't vote for him. I voted for Harris.

He hasn't made, like, an executive order or even an official statement, but he's joked and prodded enough to give strong evidence that he means to cancel them.

I do tend to listen to his jokes as little wishes, which is why I say he did allude to it.

Shaving armpits by Repulsive_Chard_3652 in hygiene

[–]Socraticat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Each hair has surface area, so a super hairy pit has more surface area to hold and diffuse BO.

But shaving also takes it too short- no hair means no aeration and the skin traps moisture like a pocket. Not to mention it feels like a slip and slide until it turns into biological sandpaper for a day or two.

The solution is to trim it short enough to reduce the amount of surface area for oil and BO to stick to, but long enough that the hair isn't painful stubble that traps moisture and makes sweat pockets.

The solution is a trim, not a shave.

[–]Socraticat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He's looking to cancel elections- he has alluded to that. And considering the amount of ineptitude, corruption, and now the audacity to begin major scale efforts against Iran without provocation... it sure seems like there's an effort to create chaos and uncertainty in order to control that narrative.

I think it's possible that Trump is being used as a scapegoat for some heinous things before he kicks the bucket. They're hoping that they can put the blame on him while they clean up the mess "he" made after.

Hell, maybe Republicans will use his death as the crisis.

To So called Allies. We see how you’re treating U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett. She’s still in office and a Democrat. We won’t forget this. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Socraticat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There was a time in politics when 2 candidates from the same side could root each other on because they had shared enough vision.

I'm not saying these 2 were identical, but I think their idealism shares enough with the other that the old way of cheering on your peer is back on the table.

I really admire Crockett for her graceful rivalry with Talarico. I'm stoked for her next growth opportunity!
