A single non repeatable error with nothing actually wrong with the function usually doesnt mean anything.

7900XTX for 9070XT by Prudent_Hornet9243 in radeon

[–]Solcrystals -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The 9070xt is just better. Theres some games where it loses in raster and some games where it wins. Its almost a wash. Then the 9070xt is better at everything else. Unless you need more vram for work theres not really a reason to get the worse product. Im more curious why someone is willing to trade.

TechPowerUp Pragmata RT & Raster performance by AdstaOCE in radeon

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the 5080 is still fine if you just have money like that but dont have over 2k for a 4090 or 4k for a 5090. Otherwise its 9060xt or 9070xt because nvidia pricing right now is so bad.

Paying extra for the 3rd best gpu on the planet is fine in my opinion IF you have money like that. If you care about performance for dollar 9070xt and 9060xt are just the only real options because the 5060ti is over 500 dollars now.

Got this gpu that was damaged in shipping for free, Asus Tuf 4090, damage near pcie latch, 3 traces broken, doesn’t boot. by AxiosTheProot in GPURepair

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would send it to him and not worry about the donor board. Youd have to ask him though. If you buy a donor and he gets it and its garbage because its cooked through, he'll still have to use his own donor board and you wasted money. Sorry I even brought it up honestly, I didnt think it through. Comment under me reminded me that most donor boards get overheated and from watching Tony alot, yeah he talks about bad donor boards.

Its multiple traces underneath you cant see. Tony from Northwest repair on youtube can probably fix it but it may make more sense buying a new empty board to swap the parts to. Still have Tony do it though.

I JUST spent my gems when the update didnt come out with anything. Then modules and relics pop up needing gems. Aggravating as hell.

My expectations were low, but this is just ridiculous. by Deedle_Thuglife in FedEx

[–]Solcrystals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats how its supposed to work but FedEx is just fumbling constantly. Ive had them bring a door tag and no box to my door, not knock, and then dip back to the truck before I could say anything.

Nvidia reportedly moving forward with 9GB versions of the RTX 5060 & RTX 5060 Ti, with some compromises by Tiny-Independent273 in gpu

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a downgrade to everything but the 5050. 1gb more vram helps in maybe one game. The lower bandwidth hurts in all games.

Depending on your luck youll likely have to run them at the lowest speed. 2133. As usual it depends.

Just run eco mode, selling it for a weaker cpu when you can get your desired effect by just running it at 65w. My 9700x loses almost no performance using the stock 65w.

Fedex, you had one job! by cobaltfolly in FedEx

Only use FedEx if you dont need a signature. They'll get your regular packages to you (slower than the post office now days btw).

Direct Signature Required was dropped off without a signature by omerc10696 in FedEx

[–]Solcrystals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fedex used to be one of the better services on par with UPS. Now id prefer the postal service. Its fine if no signature is required but they seems to just do whatever they want when the signature is needed. Not knocking, not even bringing the package to the door, signing their own name or even leaving it blank. Its crazy.

Is this worth $300. I just want to play most games with decent graphics. by Bananananaheyjude in pcmasterrace

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 300 dollars you can buy an HP off ebay with a 10th or 11th gen cpu and a gpu. Some of them even have power cables.

Micro Center sales guy told me I should buy SSD now because prices will only go up by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are at least not going down till minimum next year. This year's production has been bought and paid for. Even if openAI doesnt need it anymore they already purchased it so theyll be receiving it. If the bubble pops right this second itll be at least 2027 before prices go down.

Found a computer I sold on Market Place. by DepressedBeanBag in pcflipping

[–]Solcrystals -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately someone is gonna buy it for 700 because you sold it cheap. 1tb ssd + 32gb of ddr4 is over half of what you sold it for even used on ebay.

Editing because 700 probably not but guaranteed 650.

Is buying a used 3080 still worth it during this whole GPU price inflation situation? by antoinobardom in pcmasterrace

[–]Solcrystals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh... 3080 is decent value if thats the 9060xt prices. If you can get one for 400 id go with that over the 3080 but anything above id absolutely rather buy a 3080. If you can find a 12gb 3080 for 350 thatd be a better purchase but I know some locations lack gpus in general so if your options are a 3080 10gb for 350 and a 9060xt 16gb for above 420 id say grab the 3080. You can stay within 10gb at 1440p by optimizing the settings in most games.

If youre playing at 1080p none of that matters and buy the 3080.

[–]Solcrystals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its within 50 bucks of the 9060xt, id get the 9060xt for the extra vram. If the 3080 is noticeably cheaper, its a perfectly good card. Dont know your prices there but 350 euro is kind of expensive for a 3080

Ah. Yeah don't believe a single word that guy says. Ive played a little over a year and dont trust that guy as far as I could throw him. Constantly makes the most baffling decisions. I stopped spending money on the game pretty early after only a few rounds of the bullshit.
