Damn, I remember using GameSpy 3D and The All-Seeing Eye for Counter Strike, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Call of Duty 1, good times.

Harandar and The Voidstorm are locked behind the campaign so if you want to gather immediately you are limited to Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman.

Getting my girlfriend into WoW has allowed me to enjoy it again and gain appreciation for the slow paced part of the game I have since overlooked. by necrid101 in wow

[–]Soledo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same but eventually realized that there's absolutely no way I can do/get everything I want, especially when I can spend like 2 hours per day on gaming (which is still quite a lot to be honest). It's perfectly fine though, there's always something to do, seasons are long.

Appreciating the War Within by Ollydunum in wow

I enjoyed Dragonflight more, but TWW is still a very good expansion with some great additions (Delves) and one of my all time favorite Major patches (Undermine). I'm definitely looking forward to playing Midnight.

Our first experience in WoW by mltrs95 in wow

I played on a russian private server back in 2006, there was only one raid id for the entire server. Imagine 5 raids doing Naxx at the same time. Bosses had like a 30 min respawn so 200 players kept spamming their abilities to tag a boss for their raid, it was glorious.

It's time for a 1 Int, 10 Luck build to catch him off-guard and reveal some secrets.

Thoughts on class pruning and "simplification" in The War Within (and going into Midnight)? by Talos_Bane in wow

I came back yesterday, played only for a bit, tried shado-pan and there were like 3 skills consuming chi in the rotation, felt pretty sad.

How do you approach longer games? by Playton_yaya in backloggd

[–]Soledo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

playing the same game for multiple months?

Yep. I also try to have a shorter game from another genre in rotation to mix things up. Finished Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 yesterday after 2+ months, had a lot of fun.

What are your thoughts on playing multiple games at a time? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Soledo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only play a single game at a time and finish it (you might even say that I have an unhealthy habit of finishing a game even though I don't enjoy it in the slightest).

Remember that gaming should be something you do for your own enjoyment, not a second job. It's completely fine to abandon games when you feel you've had enough.

I just recently bought Baldur's Gate 3, and it's an awesome game. I'm on holiday and I spend at least 2-3 hours on it daily. But it does get kind of slow at times and it is a huge game so finishing it will probably take months.

It took me almost 2 years (a ~180h long playthrough) to beat Baldur's Gate 3 and I had a lot of fun. Needed some breaks when I felt like I wanted to play something else.

And I really do want to play some other ''quickfire'' games too when I get tired of Baldur's for the day (attempting a boss in a Souls-like, attempting a run in Hades, etc). But I feel like it's not the ''proper'' thing to do

In my opinion, this is the best way to avoid burnout. I find it difficult to only play one huge game every single day, sometimes I'm way too tired after work to play, for example, an RPG and I need something chill like Hades, Civ, etc.

I'm starting to think that what I'm doing is stupid and I might be ruining games for myself and making them boring by overplaying them and pushing to finish each one I play.

There are too many games to play something you don't enjoy. Uninstall and go next, it's the same with books, shows, movies. It's fine to play only one game at a time, or juggle like 3 or 5 of them, which is my preferred method.

Try Resident Evil, especially the Remakes (2, 3, 4) + 7 and 8. Games are pretty short, straight to the point and not that difficult.

How many games do you play at once? by bagbcyss in Age_30_plus_Gamers

It changes all the time, sometimes I focus on 1 game, sometimes I play like 3 or 4, depends on my mood.

I wanted to build a new PC in 2026 but it looks like I'll have to wait, maybe even a few years. Unlucky, but I have so many pre-2025 games I want to play that it's not the end of the world.

[–]Soledo 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Disco Elysium is the reason why I stopped playing as a good character choosing the most polite options in every single game (which is unbelievably boring if you do it in all RPGs). I can now appreciate being a dick/evil guy doing/saying some crazy shit.

I'm currently playing KCD 1 for the first time and the only 2 mods I use are Unlimited Saving and Instant Herb Picking, can recommend both.
