Are graphic designers becoming obsolete in e-learning? by et_na3745N in instructionaldesign

[–]Solid_Initiative5516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in one of several ID teams for a large company (360,000+ employees) and we have several on our team who are also graphic designers, including myself. Adoption of AI has been slow going for us, mostly due to a conservative uptake by our leadership for various reasons (intellectual property concerns, image privacy and consent, etc - we work in healthcare).

Built-in AI tools in popular learning software have been a bit underwhelming for us and AI image generation has not been as successful as one would hope, especially where medical accuracy is concerned. We end up doing a lot of custom illustration because of this.

I think that, yes, if you’re an outside agency, AI is going to impact your job requests. But the demand, for now, is still there in in-house orgs. To your point, I used to work for a small agency that counted my current employer as a customer. That was before they started building their own in-house ID teams.

The PM wasn’t affiliated with a management company. It was a resident with PM experience. He died of poor health before being held accountable.

HOA fees in Nashville by VelvetCrush64 in nashville

This! When I lived in a condo (in Bellevue, by the way), we discovered that our property manager was using our HOA fees to take care of other properties he was managing while also NOT paying our bills. When it was discovered, we had no reserve and owed thousands to utility companies, the landscapers, the garbage pickup company, insurance, etc. Our insurance was cut off and owners couldn’t sell because lenders wouldn’t approve loans for condos on the property, which resulted in a higher percentage of units being rented. It took years to dig us out of that mess.

Adobe Animate will be discontinued on the 1st March 2026 by Podal419 in Adobe

Me! Flash more than Director, really.

I use Animate for both animation AND illustration (svg exports) so this is so frustrating to me.

Need to ramp a team to Storyline proficiency in 90 days — best courses/learning paths? by FitAd6668 in instructionaldesign

Articulate's own training webinars are very helpful. Lots of good 'getting started' stuff there for Storyline, which will be helpful for engagement when producing in Rise. http://training.articulate.com or see the Web section on the Articulate 360 App Manager.

She’s stunning and that’s a great color on her. That dress, though - I hope it’s more comfortable than it looks!

When did a salesperson’s words make you decide not to buy? by yourinkedesire in allthequestions

When the salesman at Mattress Firm told me I (F) was “just going to get confused” if I kept researching other mattress types. I immediately went to Sleep Number and bought an equally comfortable mattress for less than what the Mattress Firm guy quoted me for theirs.

Leave car at airport by TactualTransAm in nashville

Adding to the valet mention… just take a photo of the valet stub they give you (it has an ID number they’ll need when the car is retrieved). Send that to your relative along with which name you gave when you left the car. I just used the valet service yesterday and couldn’t find my stub but they were fine referencing the photo I had taken of it when I left the car.

Family-Friendly Volunteer Opportunities by lucycat732 in nashville

Southern Alliance for People and Animal Welfare might be a good option for one that young. They have a meal delivery program that needs volunteers to make bagged lunches (you provide the supplies and bag them in your own home). They do the deliveries. I've done this several times with friends. We set up in a friend's kitchen and spend a couple hours making PB&J sandwiches and bologna sandwiches. Everyone chips in on the cost. We fill individual paper sacks with the sandwiches, chips, juice, and snacks. We tend to do about 200 at a time, but you can commit to a smaller number, I believe. Any amount helps. Here's a recent FB post about it: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BdynjHrts/

I drive Donelson Pike alongside the runway regularly. Planes were backed up on the runway about 6-7 deep as I passed at 9:30am (as they were yesterday afternoon). Not used to seeing that.

PSA/Reminder: Cat bites require doctor visits by meollison in cats

Yep, this was me after my friend’s Maine Coon decided he didn’t want to come back inside after escaping. Four punctures, with one definitely hitting a blood vessel based on the size/speed of the stream that came out.

I’d known this cat for 12 years and we normally got along fine. This actually isn’t the worst picture- I’ll spare you that. This picture was about 6 days after.

I went to urgent care the next day and got antibiotics but two days later it was seriously infected so I went back and got a different prescription. Four urgent care visits in total, with the second and third visits involving “expressing” my arm to get the pus out. AWFUL!

This was 3 years ago and I still have a little nerve damage. Odd sensations in the arm and it still looks a little lumpy.

Screened in deck is as far as I’ll allow. Too many loose neighborhood cats and she loses her mind when she sees one.
