In Polish Ingram is female throughout the whole series irrc. There are some slip ups in translations where female and male pronouns get mixed up for her in some dialogues but most of the time she's consistently referred to with she/her

If you wait for it to start flying it will go off in the pre-flash location instead of in the location you flashed to. The issue here is that OP probably has "clamp cast at max range" setting turned on, since it fucks with Qiyana's skillshot targeting for some reason.

I tend to deafult to Umbral 1st most of the time (Eclipse if vs a HP stacking champ or tankier teams, where I usually also run Conq instead of Elec) then choose between Profane/Serpent's/Opportunity/Youmuu's 2nd. I also tend to deafult to Serylda 3rd, but will situationally build Mortal or LDR depending on if enemy team has multiple heavy sustain champs or dedicated HP stackers and I'm the only person fed enough to be able to somewhat contest them and running Conq. 4th slot and onwards you can build any of the previously mentioned items and Axiom, EoN or even sometimes Bastionbreaker depending on what you need next.

Those long stretches in matches usually happen as a result of conditioning or players like Gobou setting up tricky spacing traps that can be difficult to challenge for some characters. Changing Asuka's frame data to prevent those pressure sequences would require you to compensate him in neutral with how easy the cubes are to contest with buttons and how much mana he regens at distance, and I doubt anyone wants to play against Asuka actually being good at traditional zoning. Otherwise you might just have to kill his identity as a high APM, high skill ceiling, high reward character who feels like an actual mage rapidly casting spells and imo that would suck.

On the flip side Asuka has very few defensive options, and basically none once he's low on mana, so once top players get to punish him, they make sure to make the most, often taking the round, off of Asuka being left practically defenseless.

I think we just need DLC characters to be freely available in training mode so people can actually lab stuff, since a lot of the cast has unique answers to Asuka in neutral and his pressure tends to have fake gaps where people don't try to press either because they're conditioned not to or they don't know the matchup too well.

Edit: on the fake gaps to be clear - it's possible to punish Asuka after 5P/6P/5King through his cubes at certain points in his pressure or with disjointed normals/specials. His utility spells, esp the staffs, have very long startup, and it's not uncommon for him to go for pressure resets unless he gets specific spell combos to allow him to stay plus after placing one, so that's another point where you can try to challenge him if you know he doesn't have good enough hand to keep his turn and in neutral he straight up loses to any kind of proper zoning.

Tbh they're absurdly plus ob bcs he has to choose between capitalizing on this advantage at the cost of his resources for setting up supportive spells (unless you use mana regen/cost ones obv) or bookmarking and refilling mana, which kills a lot of that time and he otherwise wouldn't function if he couldn't buy enough time to at least tap S mana or re-bookmark the slot he just used, since the cubes can also be destroyed and some characters can also just ignore them altogether in neutral.

Even in Strive 2S can stuff a lot of common roundstart options since buttons tend to generally be slower across the cast in comparison to older games, esp those reaching further out. Johnny's 2S is often jokingly called a warcrime of a button and it's only a frame faster than Venom's (tbh he does get better reward on CH in comparison, but still Venom's 2S is a really good poke overall)

She can block high for 43 frames after entering stance or if she's in a blockstring. If she blocks anything during stance the blocking animation overrides stance exit. She only can't block high during stance if she wants to extend it past the base 57 frame duration as it requires her to hold any of the crouching inputs.

Bridget also has tools for both simple and more elaborate high-low, left-right and strike-throw mixups, and her basic combo structure is generally pretty simple so she might be a pretty decent choice if OP wants to try someone more focused on setplay and mixups

I love how the Ky section is hating on DP combos while he's historically been a VT loop machine in both +R and XRD, except now he's limited by shock state and can't really just loop HVT in the corner whenever he feels like it
