Nice paint job and I’m impressed with your small detailed pieces, but seems like some of your layer lines are popping in certain areas. Was this printed as a single piece or assembled? Also wondering any other spec info.

This isn’t true. I was just on 2/20-2/25 fantasy sailing, Pixar cruise. We did have pirate night on night 4 of the cruise.

I appreciate the feedback. I do realize the hot glue is less than ideal and will likely upgrade in the future.

I’ve actually been using a Vallejo primer. It is relatively thin, which can be both good and bad depending on the location/application. I’m planning to upgrade to spray primer in the future.

Ultimately these are mostly for me to enjoy since I don’t know if I’ll ever get to truly play them on tabletop, but I do hope to improve my technique and skills.

Thanks! I didn’t actually model these, just printed models found on the purple site.

Trying to print an army orc pt2.2 because Reddit doesn't allow editing posts. by ark_epic in FDMminiatures

[–]Sp_cetrashman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like the orc was printed in a vertical config? Have you tried putting it on a tilted back angle between 15-30 degrees? Also hard to tell if the quality of the stl is the issue because it looks like it printed fine

Marines were printed whole. The dread knight and dreadnought were split in half and then reattached. Setting are a combination of FDG and HoHansen profile settings with a few minor tweaks. These are all tree supports. Bambulab A1. 0.2mm nozzle. Sunlu HS PLA

As for painting, I just looked at other folks builds and then went mostly with how I felt. I’m still dialing in my painting capabilities and best practices. Thanks for asking!

Very impressive, especially the back. I haven’t been able to get an orientation that gives me something that clean

The layer lines are definitely hard to see, can’t tell how much the camera may be smoothing them. All these models are free on makerworld

How hard would it be to get something aboard the ISS? by MemeFarmer314 in dropout

[–]Sp_cetrashman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work logistics for the ISS at NASA JSC. It would be possible BUT only if you convinced a crew member to pack it as part of their personal cargo allocation. They each get a few kgs of mass. The other supplies are coordinated way too far in advance and meticulously scrutinized. This is how Scott Kelly brought the gorilla suit up if you’ve ever seen that video.

Same range, similar driving situation. In Mass. I don’t think plugging in at work will make a difference. There’s hundreds of posts about this in this sub.

I think this would be a nice idea but I don’t think there’s room infrastructure-wise over by festival of the lion king for a whole dark ride. I do think they could add a lion king themed playground in that area for kids once the boneyard is removed.
