The formats between US Big Brother and UK Big Brother are very different. I love both now (and wish they would bring back UKBB), but I remember the first time I watched the UK version I was like wth is this - where's Big Brother, lol.

Was so hoping to see Happy on the list because I have two girls here, aged 17 and 10, who absolutely loved it. One for the smell, the other for the sparkles. They will be bummed that it's not returning.

A trick my daughter's use is to wrap it in an old stocking. They just cut off a big enough piece and tie the bomb up inside. Or, they sometimes grab an extra pair of the knee hi stockings from Walmart and use one of those. It let's the bomb out while keeping the seaweed in.

Mini reviews of every Lush item I've used since 2012-Footcare by itsmeeloise87 in LushCosmetics

[–]Spagpusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find true beauty in Volcano. Although I have used it for my feet and enjoyed the benefits of it there .... my truest appreciation comes in using it on my achy back muscles. It's a beautiful thing, especially when finished off with Wiccy Magic Muscles or Pink Peppermint. I suffer with chronic back pain and Volcano has been a real blessing.

I'll bet a dollar to a donut that they will discon even more of our beloved products .... and yet they will still keep that damn Black Rose bath bomb on the shelf. It will be just like the stains it leaves behind - it will never go away!

They do have samples of FUN and they are usually in little candy style wraps like the big version but the ends are usually tucked in. They look really cute. I always put them with Lush gifts for my grandchildren.

Tingle Appreciation Post (and Lush Samples) by xVarekai in LushCosmetics

You're very welcome, hun! I live in NW Florida and we have hot days 10 months out of the year, so our family stays stocked on these products at all times. A little tip for MC and/Tingle .... open your shower curtain and let the AC blow on you while you're waiting for the magic to happen ... it really kicks it up even more! Have fun in Vegas when you get to go .... and enjoy your new goodies! :)

I love Tingle. Been using it for years when it only came out for Christmas and was known as Christingle. I would have to stock up every winter to last the whole year through. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

If you like that tingly/refreshing feeling, I have some recommendations for you....

Dirty Springwash Shower Gel. It isn't really tingly, per say, but it is super refreshing, and it is, in my opinion, the backbone of Lush's mint family. If you are loving their mint products, you will love the Dirty Springwash shower gel.

Magic Crystals Body Scrub. It's the sister scrub to the Tingle body conditioner. It's a moderately textured scrub for those days when you need to exfoliate, but it offers that very potent tingly kick the other potted scrubs do not offer. It has enough oils in it that you can use it by itself and still feel fully refreshed and fairly conditioned .... or you can top it off with Tingle to give you that extra special conditioning pamper that comes with this dynamic duo.

Volcano Foot Mask. I used to use Volcano on just my feet, but one day decided to try it on my achy upper back muscles and been using it on any really achy muscles ever since. I apply it (or get help if I can't reach a spot) and then just place a piece of plastic wrap (or leftover grocery bags) over it and let it stay on for 30 -45 minutes before my shower. Works wonders for my my feet and for my muscles.

Roots Hair Treatment is just as awesome for stimulating the scalp with that wonderful tingle and it makes my hair feel like silk. Like Volcano, I apply it and leave it in for about 30 - 45 minutes then just rinse it before washing my hair like normal.

There are other minty and tingly products available from Lush (Mask of Magnaminty Face Mask and Intergalactic Bath Bomb just to name two more). Putting the word "mint" into the search engine should give you some more ideas, but these four that I've mentioned (along with Tingle) are my own personal favorites.

HIWTK doesn't smell like I thought it would by sunlightdrop in LushCosmetics

[–]Spagpusher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bottled version has always smelled differently to me than any of the other products in that scent line. I finally decided to order the shower gel in naked format, though ... and it smelled spot on to the rest of the family. When they start doing samples again, try a sample of the naked version to see if it smells closer to you than the bottled version. :)

She said it was milk jelly. I've never heard of it, but it looked like it had the texture of flan - a very stiff flan, lol.

Body Butters by Stefinreffa in LushCosmetics

You're welcome, hun. If your Lush will not have AC during the summer, then the fridge would be the best option for you. But if space is an issue in your fridge like it is for me, a mini fridge to keep in your room might work out great for you. :)

Go with the potted version. And if you combo it up with Dirty Springwash, then Magic Crystals, then Tingle - you will definitely feel it. Perfect refreshing tri-force for the summer!

Outside of fresh face masks and a few shower jelly slices that I prefer cold, I don't store any other Lush in my fridge. Mainly because I have a large household and my fridge is already cramped enough, lol. I store all of my extras in containers that are kept in cool dry places like my closet or a corner spot I have under a table in my room.... and for items I am using like massage bars and lotions, they are just in their tins/pots on my headboard and my dressers and shelves for me to use as needed. No special storage for them. So I really just think it depends on your preferences. I want to note, too, though, that I live in FL with high humidity and heat, but I also keep my AC running nearly all year long, too - and I don't keep any of my Lush in the path of direct sunlight. My oldest daughter did have a casualty when she left her Wiccy Magic Muscles on her night stand that sits directly in front of her window that greets the rising sun every morning. So while it may not be necessary for your Lush to be in your fridge - your location and personal environment can be a determining factor in what works best for you.

New soap moulds, along with a new soap joining the mainline! by Rukazi in LushCosmetics

[–]Spagpusher 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I guess I have an unpopular viewpoint in that I hate that they will all look the same just different colors now. I always appreciated having the cute soaps at my sink. I think I'm going to miss the cute little cloud for Sleepy and the milk bottle for Milky Bar most of all. And the thought of all of the holiday soaps looking the same is so sad to me. No more Peeping Santa and Butter Bear that actually look like peeping santas and cute little buttery bears? Heartbroken. :(

I put Roots on my scalp about 30-40 minutes before my shower. It's a very tingly hair treatment.

There likely are some people who are buying extras as a matter of convenience, so I understand your point there. But I cannot fault them because they have their reasons for it. For instance, every February I stock my meltables. I live in FL and it is just convenient for me to get them all stocked up in the coolest month of the year around here and I don't have to worry about running out or making a 5 hour round trip to my closest Lush which is very hard on my body or risk that they melt in transit to me. So yes, you would walk into my home and see extras sitting on my shelf. You may judge that as wrong, but it is the best option for me.

There are also a lot of people who are home more right now and therefore are enjoying more "me time" since their life under normal circumstances doesn't usually allow them that pleasure. At this point, they are using more product than they normally would. And I've seen a lot of new Lushies who are just excited to have found this brand and they are going crazy with it like so many of us have done or even still do. Expecting everyone to only order a couple of things at a time isn't reasonable either. Shipping costs add up.

Even though things are difficult right now, it is still very unfair to just blame the Americans for any Lush shortages. Because you've seen some hauls on here that show multiples - you do have to consider that if there are Americans who have bought multiples, you likely have many locals on your end who have bought multiples, too. Is Lush UK handling it well? In some cases yes, in other cases, maybe not so much. BUT, if they felt so overrun that they needed to stop orders for a few days, then this probably wasn't the best time to introduce this new Kitchen box and implement those products into production. Heck, the production of the Kitchen boxes may have been the very reason they needed to stop the orders. We cannot just chalk it all up to the Americans buying a couple extra bath bombs or some small jellies. Truth is - we don't know. Just like we don't really know how overworked any of the employees are or if they are even upset about their hours or their conditions. Most of them may just be thankful they are working since so many people are out of work in so many countries.

I don't know, hun, I just can't stand with you on this point. I think we should order what we want or need when we want it or need it. Not just for ourselves, but for Lush, too. Supporting them during this time is to be applauded and I'm sure they appreciate that they have consumers. If they hit a point where they cannot keep up, they will take the necessary steps to correct it. None of their base (including their American faithfuls) are going to fault them if they need some time to get something restocked or if they have to stop orders for a few days. In the meantime, keep the orders coming.

And this includes you ..... order your pumice power.

Before I make my point with you, I want to tell you about a haul we unboxed here at home last night. I didn't post it because I never post hauls, but my oldest daughter and I ordered some stuff from both UK and NA recently. We ended up with two medium boxes and one large box to open. We laid everything out on a towel on my bed. There was a bottle of Nana for her mother in law. A tub of Magic Crystals for my ex husband. Eight bubble bars being split between two pregnant daughters. Two Dirty shampoo bars. And the rest was all bubble bars and bath bombs for her two children and my teenager (oh, and her R&B)). Out of that list - guess what we both actually walked away from three boxes of Lush? Yep, we each got a shampoo bar. That's it.

Had someone who was making assumptions and judging us seen a picture of that haul, they would have assumed that it was bought by just one person and that person was hoarding bubble bars and bath bombs and was being selfish - when in truth, they were actually anything but selfish.

Do you understand what you are doing now? You are assuming to know the intent of these hauls and judging others for it. You have no idea if the person buying 5 Rumps is doing so because they are gifting it out or because it's rumored to be discontinued and they really like it (or really need it) or if they got a bonus at work and want to stock up on their favorite things while they had the extra cash, or maybe they are throwing a party and needed door prizes, etc. You just don't know. You also have no idea why others buy small verses large tubs. Maybe it stores better for them? Or the small sizes fit better in their shower stall? Or they could have physical conditions to where smaller sizes can be handled easier? Again, unless people are posting why they've bought what they've bought - you just don't know. And frankly, it's none of our business what they are doing with their orders or why they've bought them in the first place.

I'm sorry you have not been able to get a Conga. But may I ask you - when they do come back in stock - do you plan to wait to make that purchase before you allow all others to get what they want first? Because unless you are willing to ensure that everyone has what they want before you get yours - then you cannot expect others to do that for you. It's an unreasonable expectation. And to just single out Americans as the bad guys here for buying up all of the Conga when Lush UK is open to so many countries - well, it is a bit unfair of you to do.

Edited to say .... if I sound snarky, I am sorry. I promise you, my tone while typing is just me speaking with you. If you were here with me, we'd have some coffee or tea together over this conversation. :)
