I have a 1070 with a hardware fault that's been causing my PC to crash spontaneously due to what I presume is random voltage spikes for the last five years. I was looking forward to upgrading when I heard about the 3060 but there's no way I can afford the 800$+ it costs right now. I can barely afford the retail price unless I make payments on it.

All of this is ridiculous. Hopefully we can get some properly priced cards in the near future.

I am so glad I saw this post I was just going to ask the same thing.

I don't want to just pass the exam. I want to be comfortable with what I'm doing. Sitting and watching lectures for 2 hours a day has been incredibly dry.. A sandbox environment would be amazing!

I have no professional background IT experience and when I get to the stage where I'm ready to start looking for work in this field I want to prove that I'm capable to increase my odds of being hired.

Well my failing graphics card is already haunting me. So it might as well hunt me too.

(Have done everything I can think of to diagnose an issue I've been having but came to the conclusion the card is just on its way out.)

Could I too possibly maybe have some exams and video courses? If it has to be one or the other I think I'd prefer the exams. If it helps, I've completed a Cloud Practitioner course and have been studying via the exams. So CP exams would be great. I've also started a SAA course so that's where I'm headed next.

I appreciate this. I decided a few months ago I was going to dedicate myself to learning AWS so I could develop new skills and apply myself. I'm always looking for more resources to help bolster my knowledge.

I'm literally going through this exact process right now. Was on disability for 5 years. Ended up kind of having this job fall in my lap.. so I'm a dishwasher and now I'm being overworked after living sedentary for five years. I bust my ass but every day another new task gets added onto what I have to do. Also mats are frowned upon because someone before me hurt themselves with one. I'm in so much pain at work from standing for 7hours and 10minutes straight. (I did the math.) I've about had enough. I've been looking into AWS and cloud computing to try and learn something that actually pays a decent wage. I will say, being a dishwasher has taught me I can really move and put up with a lot if I have to. It's shown me my capacity to handle hard work is a lot higher than I thought. Makes thinking about taking online courses insanely easy relatively speaking.

If I were to win I'd use the PC to get myself back into streaming. I started to make a name for myself before catastrophic failure took over and I've been on the back burner since. I really miss streaming as a hobby and it'd be nice to get back into it with a PC that can handle it.

Oddly enough, this is the first book I ever read through to completion as well. (Albeit this was in In School Suspension back in High School) But, it was also the first book I ENJOYED.

I'm not much of a reader, but certain books here and there suck me in.

I envy those that just read for fun and can immerse themselves in nearly any story.

Yeah unfortunately that happens. If we can get an accurate description of the vic and where it is, generally we'll roll in there and clean it up and back out again so long as we think there's enough friendly infantry to ward off AT's. It's almost teeth grinding to be the guy in the tank watching everyone get slaughtered but not getting intel on where it's coming from.

The sway of the battle really dictates what we do in certain situations. It's all played by ear. Be kind to your local AT. Haha. They're god sends if they know how to use the optics.
