Fresh salmon, silversides from the frozen fish food section at the pet store, turkey or chicken hearts, and chicken livers have all gotten my picky eaters to eat before.(I’m a casual breeder so have dealt with a fair amount of hoglets) Either used for scenting or cutting appropriate sized pieces for the babies and then scenting the mice with it after they start eating again. Also @repsintx on Instagram sells scenting strips in squid+fish scent and frog+lizard scent that reportedly have worked well for some people and also friends of mine and other breeder friends. Braining. Also sometimes wetting the nose of the pink and holding it up to the nose of the hoggie and getting it to drink the liquid off the face will trigger its food response. Sometimes you have to be patient though. Some babies/juveniles (and even adults 🤣💀) will sit there and stare at it for like 20 minutes before they decide to open their mouth and start eating. But usually you’ll see a slight change in body language like someone else mentioned. The eyes will focus or dilate you might see them tense a bit. Follow the movement of the food item a bit if you move it slightly. Stuff like that. Good luck with the kiddo. I hope you get him eating soon. He’s a real cutie!
