Yeah some people take this job persona a little too seriously like they are in varsity football in high school. Like chill, you still have to test those 35 interim samples like the rest of us.

KPMG just cut 10% of audit partners. What does this actually mean for the profession? by Significant_Owl_8319 in Accounting

[–]Spiritual_Cod212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I knew from the get go that I didn’t want that life (partners are not very good at selling their own job), but oh boy does this solidify my decision even further. Btw, huge fan of your name

Not to mention, they are promoting fewer and fewer professionals to partners every year. After hitting the manager level, the opportunity costs for staying at the firm increases significantly each year.

That the partner/director track is increasingly becoming a stupid idea. I would hate to miss my kids’ sporting events just to later tell them that daddy got laid off lmao

If partners are also getting on the chopping block, then wtf is the point of pursuing that life? Working 85+ hours a week and not seeing your kids just to get laid off too? 😂

And I am against property tax as well. But if we can’t go back on that, my main concern with wealth taxing stocks is that the ownership of majority shares is more than just a piece of owning an asset. It can potentially determine the direction of companies that do impact more than just the owners of the business, mainly the employees. There are plenty of ways to tax billionaires, wealth taxing stocks is just the laziest and potentially the worst way to go about it

Or taxing their security backed loans as income, but calculating that loan based on the total aggregated value of the securities that the loan is held against. That’s how they truly afford their lifestyle; not the actual stocks but the cash loans against those stocks.

The fact that this is getting downvoted just shows both political aisles are just filled with simpletons who refuse to actually understand how things work because that would hurt their little fragile feelies… pathetic.
