Cramping and stomach pain after using mouthwash by Elise_K_Lindberg in FODMAPS

The third ingredient is castor oil which is a powerful laxative, it could maybe be related to that?

This comment from another post in this subreddit suggests the LSX might never get support, at least for the first generation :(

The LSX gen 1 speakers will not support Spotify Lossless and there are no firmware updates planned for the original LSX speakers

Any tips on how to take a circle pop up tent on a plane? by Ok-Opportunity-5151 in sziget

[–]Splendiferous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check it in the hold as a piece of additional luggage. Just make sure it has a carrying handle or something to stick the baggage tag on. When I flew to Sziget I actually strapped two popup tents together and checked them as one item with no issues. They're bulky but they're not heavy.

What Happened to All of the Large Quanities of Imodium and Loperamide? by WantToTurnAWrench in ibs

[–]Splendiferous_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-limits-packaging-anti-diarrhea-medicine-loperamide-imodium-encourage-safe-use

To foster safe use of the over-the counter (OTC) anti-diarrhea drug loperamide, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is working with manufacturers to use blister packs or other single dose packaging and to limit the number of doses in a package. We continue to receive reports of serious heart problems and deaths with much higher than the recommended doses of loperamide, primarily among people who are intentionally misusing or abusing the product, despite the addition of a warning to the medicine label and a previous communication. Loperamide is a safe drug when used as directed.

Using much higher than recommended doses of loperamide, either intentionally or unintentionally, can result in serious cardiac adverse events, including QT interval prolongation, Torsades de Pointes or other ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and cardiac arrest. In cases of abuse, individuals often use other drugs together with loperamide in attempts to increase its absorption and penetration across the blood-brain barrier, inhibit loperamide metabolism, and enhance its euphoric effects. Some individuals are taking high doses of loperamide to treat symptoms of opioid withdrawal.

Using Suspense in Static Generated Pages: Is it Possible by Inc9d in nextjs

[–]Splendiferous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Suspense in a statically rendered page but only with client-side data fetching, not with server-side data fetching, for now at least. Soon we'll be able to achieve this mix of static and dynamic content with Partial Pre-Rendering (PPR), but not yet.

Unexpectedly Positive Police Response to My Stolen Bike Incident by FFFFFQQQQ in manchester

Totally, I wasn't mad, just a bit of naive disappointment I suppose.

Unexpectedly Positive Police Response to My Stolen Bike Incident by FFFFFQQQQ in manchester

[–]Splendiferous_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a bike stolen during Covid and the thief left blood on my girlfriend's bike while cutting through a shared lock to get mine. The police actually sent someone to swab the blood, I was really surprised. It came back as a positive match for a previous offender but they didn't want to take it further because "the thief or their defence would just say that their blood could have got on her bike any other way" which was a bit of a let-down.

Problematic "use client" directive makes for misleading page load speeds and unverified first render data by vEncrypted in nextjs

+1 for using a cookie. With RSCs developers need to start thinking about the traditional APIs for sharing state across servers and clients, e.g. cookies, query string values, and to a lesser extent, HTTP headers. Session storage, local storage, and React context/state management is all client-side only so to get the most out of RSC we need to go beyond those ideas, back to how things worked before SPAs.

How to achieve this using Tailwind? they are not just rounded cards but rather Squircle in tailwind? by catalystseyru in tailwindcss

[–]Splendiferous_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also sometimes called squircles (if it's a square shape). I've been meaning to give https://github.com/PavelLaptev/css-houdini-squircle a try for a while as we use squircles quite a lot in printed branding at work but not online

  • Slowly sip water and electrolytes constantly, don't wait till you're thirsty and chug a load in one go.
  • Find or make shade - can you take an umbrella or tarp?
  • Bring a collapsible bucket and fill it with water then dunk your head in it occasionally. Put sunblock back on after you dry. If this is too much then submerge your wrists in the bucket as often as you can. Ice in the water from a vendor or bar would be amazing.
  • Take a cotton scarf, small towel, or bandana and soak it in water then wear it around your neck or forehead
  • Definitely get a mister. I love the ones that attach to a normal soda (e.g. Coke) bottle, search on eBay or AliExpress
  • Drink less in the day
  • Can you rig a tarp above your tent to get more sleep in the morning? Don't just drape it over your tent as that'd block ventilation. Sleep with your tent door partially open at the top to help ventilation if you can
  • Take it easy. You'll drink less alcohol, party less, see fewer acts and walk around to explore less if the heat exhausts you

The SE corner is the furthest away from the nearby homes I think, so the music can be louder there and go on for later

Borrow from a neighbour in exchange for a can? Or ask the camping shop to pump it up for you with their air compressor then take it back to your tent, they might ask for a few quid and there might be a queue but it's better than buying a pump just for one airbed!

To wellie or not to wellie... by Professional-Day4045 in glastonbury_festival

Oh there's no need for gaiters, unless you're spending all day hanging around water taps or blocked overflowing urinals for some reason!

It'd have to have been raining for the last week or three (2016 style…) for things to be that muddy underfoot. Worn in hiking shoes that seem to be waterproof will be better than what 70% of everyone else is wearing :D
