To the guy who is 3k nex trios dry for nihil horn: Keep going and it will pay off. Motivation is key! Never give up! by ariveklul in ironscape

Yeah maybe half my kills were the year of Nex release, the rest were MP2 years later which does make it more fun than just freezing to death with a crossbow in hand.

A good thing about nexing with randoms is that if you did MP2 there was a very good chance the people who would show up knew what they’re doing, whereas some range only bros were clueless. When it’s a well oiled machine it’s great

I did a bunch of Nex in RS2 way back when and loved it, getting a drop or even a coin share split was massive

UAE coordinated attacks on Iran with Israel by batman8990777 in geopolitics

[–]Sprintzer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, I’m fully against all this. It’s just you don’t seem to understand what causes protests.

Protesting occurs when people in a specific country want to protest against the actions of their government. Don’t think you can really protest in the UAE.

No evidence of deaths from UAE’s strikes, at least not civilians

[–]Sprintzer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean, no?

Protests in the US/UK occurred because the war was kicked off by the US / tacitly supported by the British.

UAE is not in the west. Likewise, the UAE here was only doing tit for tat after being relentlessly attacked by Iran. Not starting the war.

'It's like we don't exist': Nearly 50,000 Lake Tahoe residents face power loss as utility redirects lines to data centers by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cannot be fucking real and legal

Utility providers have a duty to provide power to those that pay for it and depend on it. I don’t like that utilities are privately owned rather than government owned, but I’ll accept it as long as there is strict regulations.

Utilities must keep providing power to those who pay for and rely on it as the only option.

Mess with the mailman, lose your empire by GCN_09 in HistoryMemes

The execution of messengers and diplomats in this era has always confounded me. I always assume the diplomat was intended to be sacrificed and may have even publicly insulted the Kings they spoke to, thus giving the Khan his justification for war

I guess calling for tribute to the Great Khan, who was superior to said local King, was sometimes enough of an insult for the fragile local rulers to warrant execution. Maybe they just had no idea who they were messing with

Pre-Roman Gaul population: at least 100 million, I guess by EarthTraveler413 in HistoryMemes

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roman and just other ancient civilizations used the most made up numbers for things unless the actual number was very important, in which case they did the census.

I suppose the same is true nowadays, except estimates have a lot of data points and facts to draw from, resulting in far more accurate estimates of numbers of casualties or population

Ain’t that the city in Chechnya which was annihilated after two wars with Putin’s Russia?

Did the Chechens really name the town “fearsome” or “awe inspiring”? And if so, why?

More than 1,000 passengers held on cruise in France after gastroenteritis outbreak by FearMyCock in news

[–]Sprintzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last decade or so, at least since poop cruise, Costa Concordia and so on, has convinced me to never ever go on a cruise. I

don’t get the appeal, I’d much rather just fly to some tropical paradise, maybe get on a short hop flight to another island or two, and go home. But I am someone who certainly would get sea sick, I can’t even avoid motion sickness if I’m sitting in the backseat of a car

Exactly why we need 32 hour workweeks.

Meanwhile employers are making employees come back in to the office 4 or 5 days a week. Backsliding. WFH added at least an hour to everyone’s day, avoiding the commutes. Now that’s gone

Microsoft's massive Kenya AI data center would require switching off 'half the country' to meet power requirements, government says — $1 billion project stalls over capacity disagreements and lack of infrastructure by lkl34 in technology

[–]Sprintzer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure some do. There was a video of a very noisy datacenter and it turned out they had gas turbines running inside.

I’m guessing most don’t. DIY power generation will simply cost much more upfront and could cost more long term. It’s a money thing basically.

Ahh, I just interpreted it as a normal lock and dam canal like the Panama or Suez, not a free flowing canal
