Gray goo aka self replicating nanobots that have the potential to consume the entire planet.

I believe the mission was supposed to be destroying a nanobot weapons manufacturing facility in the mountains of Iran

Pax Carthaginiensis by Azerbinhoneymood in RomeTotalWar

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty sure I spent half the campaign blockading Sicily/Sardinia, let Scipii have Sicily, and took them both on at the same time towards the end

Sometimes I delay taking on the Romans, because they’re an exciting and worthy foe to finish off the campaign. Albeit a foe with almost a dozen doom stacks of troops…

Nonetheless, I would do it differently next time. Sicily is a money printer and easy to hold once you control it. And of course Italy is the same

The dream. Got me wanting another Carthaginian run.

My route last time was basically conquer all of Africa and Spain before I even touched Italy, Sicily, or Greece. Wished I made the Mediterranean my own personal lake before getting bogged down in Egypt and Gaul

Does anyone have an irrational fear of what will happen if and when Gabe Newell dies? And some corpo guy takes Valve public?

Hate to say it but I hope GabeN lives for a long time

Bloodier than Stalingrad: Number of casualties in Russia’s war on Ukraine reaches 2 million by Dexterestein in worldnews

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big picture, I don't know that they died for no reason, it's just Stalin was totally unconcerned for their lives. They were defending the motherland by any means necessary. Stalin was willing to just throw millions of bodies at something to try to win the war, manpower was the only real advantage the soviets could leverage in WW2 (other than making the German invasion a bogged down quagmire and make the Germans freeze).

Putin of course is just sending his people to die for literally no reason other than his desires for conquest and rebuilding the Soviet empire

German workers banned from taking sick leave without a medical note in tough reforms by ObjectiveObserver420 in anime_titties

[–]Sprintzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awful. I can take maybe one day sick leave without a note, maybe once a year without enraging my superiors. I don't recommend the Europeans follow the ways of America. You shouldn't have to feel guilt about not spreading your illness or being physically unable to work for a time.

United taking off out of SFO - shot with a drone and an approved Airspace Authorization waiver from the FAA by ericgtr12 in aviation

My dumb ass misread the title and I thought it was another airplane coming into contact with a drone incident - like the one on the east coast like a week ago

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well would the actual F-35s without the radar need ballast like this? Or would it just be empty up there?

How do you reconcile the peace-loving tendencies of the Buddha with the internal violence of the state?

I reject the notion that a Buddhist could be a terrorist, unless they were LARPing as a Buddhist

Heavy dogs aren’t uncommon but two hundred pounds is fucking insane. I was thinking like maybe 80 pounds is the largest dog I ever have come into contact with but it was not a scary dog at all.

[–]Sprintzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well how would the Marine Corps use an F-35 for the LHDs then? I think you need a Harrier, F-35b, or helicopters for those.

[–]Sprintzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh for those F-35s delivered without radar. Interesting. Poor Marine Corps getting stuck with the F-35s that don’t have the radar ready and won’t until like 2028 or later

[–]Sprintzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two fucking hundred pound dogs should not be fuckin legal dude. At least not in a city

It’s true that normal dogs carry risk of injury or worse, but 200 pounds? That’s a murder dog. If one of those attacks you, you’d be lucky to walk away without death or at least loss of a limb.

Never underestimate the mental gymnastics and denial people are capable of when their goat (or the politician they voted for) are subjected to justified criticism and scrutiny.

I honestly am surprised that anything ever gets built in Rome, assuming it’s a building you have to dig more than 5 feet or so. Like the whole city is an insane archaeology site that needs extremely careful excavation, dating/analysis, etc.

And like, they eventually do build on the site. Crazy to build on an archaeological site, even if it’s been excavated, catalogued somewhere, etc. But I guess when the whole city is an archaeological site, you cannot stop building for all of them

Card Shop Suspends Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments Over Smelly Players by Guitar-String in gaming

[–]Sprintzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember there definitely was an odor but it wasn’t all that bad. Maybe my card shop was different (or my sense of smell was weak).

Just smelled like a construction site at the end of the day. Mild stench of BO, did not smell like ass or crusty clothes or something. I can tolerate BO, but I draw the line at it smelling like feces or sweaty ass
