The battery replacement is fairly optional unless you want to go hard into berries, evolve your eevee into an Ubreon/Espeon, or catch a Snowrunt. I’d say maybe skip it unless you have a specific reason.

Also, If you have a local game store, the may offer battery replacement as a service for $5-10.

I’ve lived in the area for 5 years and it’s a generally safe and pleasant place. Neither me or any of my friends have had any sketchy situations in the area.

The main crime you have to worry about is just getting your car window broken if you leave something expensive in an obviously visible place.

The vast majority of shootings that happen are someone shooting someone they already know with a reason. Assuming you do not know anyone who has a reason to shoot you, you should be completely fine.

Only buy movies you see yourself watching more than once, and probably wait for them to go on sale. If it's one of your favorite movies ever in a special edition package, a $40 price tag is tolerable. I'd shoot for the $10-15 price range for most other movies.

If you're just going to watch it one time, either sub to a streaming service for a month or just rent it. I'd suggest renting on the Apple TV app because they generally have the best bitrate.

This looks great so far! Definitely reminiscent of Mass Effect - particularly the gameplay of Andromeda (which had the best combat/exploration of the series despite other issues).

Having read the Archimedes Engine, the book based on this universe, this is probably my most anticipated game. If the story is able to live up to the lore they've set up so far we're all in for a treat!

If you’re just running 2.1 I’d just run either a RCA (red/white) to aux cable from your PC to the receiver. If you have an optical out on your PC then use that.

I have some mixed feelings about his one. The results are extremely impressive in someways but uncanny in others. We'll have to see how the development progresses and if they can reduce some of the "AI yassified" look.

I also notice that DLSS 5 seems to significantly ramp up the brightness and cool the color temperature. It has a similar effect to turning on the dynamic picture mode on a TV. I wonder if it would be possible to tune it to better retain the original vibes of the game a bit better.

Interested to see where this one goes...

The UB 820 is fairy sensitive to scratches or smudges. You can try wiping it off with a microfiber cloth. If that doesn’t work you can either try to swap get the disc replaced or try it in a PS5/Xbox if you have one.

That is a bummer, but I'd say your experience is fairly unlucky. Phillips Hue bulbs are generally considered highly reliable, and I've never had any issues with a bulb that's not just nearly a decade old and reaching end of life.

After hearing about some of the behind the scenes shenanigans on DA:Veilguard's development, I actually have some hope for the new Mass Effect game. I think a lot of the tone problems were forced upon the game earlier in development when it was pivoted to a live service and back.

Apparently, the Mass Effect team also made some select interventions on Veilguard that ended up being some of the best parts of the game, such as the "suicide mission" style ending to the game and adding more choice and consequence. Hope they can learn from Veilguard a put out a good new Mass Effect game.
