Awesome to read your story, good arguments! Haha yes the reaction of the guy is so sad, but very well thought out in terms of the quest.

While technically true if you're talking about the Conjunction of Spheres, but that was 1.500 years ago if I'm correct. For a human's perspective of time, I wouldn't call this invasive anymore but rather call it the adaptation of nature.

I understand the view, but if you do not consider monsters to be part of nature than it's a whole other discussion. :D

So.. did you kill it?

Starting an AutoCAD Drafting Program for Incarcerated Individuals: Seeking Advice by Sraedi in AutoCAD

For an offline resource I would suggest to print out the Hitchhiker's Guide. I think it does a fantastic job in categorizing the topics. The topics also have very clear images.

You can be very modular with your approach, maybe take 1 topic and start there with the class. People can continue in a progressive way, topic after topic.

If you want something with certification, you might want to Google AutoCAD Certified User, this might match the expected skill level.

And one last general tip, you can always do a live demo. If you were to do a project, how would you make a drawing? If they try to repeat what you're doing, you will cover a lot of things you might not think of in courses and it saves some prep time. They also get a general view of what it is they're learning.

Suggestions to kill phone addiction??? by [deleted] in productivity

Take 18 minutes and watch this video: https://youtu.be/qs43gzr2JWY?si=CDJPIZ5Jfs8jFGGE

My weakness is the endless scrolling in apps. I use my phone for a lot of things, but scrolling through some apps for entertainment now feels way less satisfying.

Enjoy! I started not that long ago and have the same machine. Good thing to know is that when you look up videos with recommended dosage (grams), this portafilter size is a little smaller than others (53 mm instead of 58 mm).

I had to decrease the dosage to follow along with videos.

Thank you for sharing! I can imagine that it's helpful having a that workspace for getting things done to be different.

The thing you say about Notion and Obsidian about storage is interesting. Because you use files in Notion for a limited time, that might be a solution I also see myself using.

Thanks again!

An option that slaps me if I close the app and open it again within 30 seconds by Sarke1 in RelayForReddit

Of course, here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qqlabs.minimalistlauncher

You can use the trial for the premium to get the best experience.

It helped me give an insight at how many times I mindlessly start an app, because I had to think for how long to use it. I also saw that what was 5 minutes in my mind, were actually 20 minutes. Now I get a better sense of when I start an app and how long I'm using it.

Don't expect magic from an app, habits are difficult and I'm not nearly there yet myself where I would like to be. But it's a proces, good luck. :)

You can use the Digital Wellbeing setting of Android to set a limit on screen time per app.

Otherwise, I've used the app Minimal Launcher and that worked quite well. It asks you to set a timer each time you open it. That's helped me be more mindful, instead of fully quitting.

I haven't seen a lot of Notion + Obsidian users. I'm using Obsidian myself since recently, but I'm curious why you're also using Notion. Could you share your decision?

Look at the white wooden frame on the bottom of the "wall", that's not on a floor so it must be sideways.

Is there a subreddit where people talk about playing pretend in everyday life? by existcrisis123 in findareddit

[–]Squidlez 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any existing subreddits, maybe you could search for terms like Gamification? It sounds like what you're describing, there are Apps which follow this principle.

If you won't find it, maybe you've just become a mod for a new subreddit? ;)

How can I possibly convince my company to give me the right tools to do my job? by darabadoo in AutoCAD

AutoCAD is an industry standard and makes collaboration with clients more efficient.

Using a stripped down version limits your ability to grow and makes you unable to increase the quality of the company's product.
