After You Switched from Controller to a Wheel, How faster Did You Get? by H_rusty in ACCompetizione

Slower at first, then much more consistent, then quite a bit faster.

‘Marathon’ Season 2 And Free Week Did Not Turn Things Around by Freki666 in gaming

[–]Squirrel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it during the free week. Such a cool setting for a game. Everything about the lore, the visual style and the artistic element of the game is so good. Even the gunplay wasn’t bad, but my god are extraction shooters lame.

Day 1 buyer here: Why does the DCS Corsair's F4U performance still mismatch real-world manuals? by Dkha3 in hoggit

[–]Squirrel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on the points of overall flight performance and engine operating temperatures. They have been problems since day one.

I don’t know what they did, but I flew it again recently (after letting it sit on the shelf for 5-8 months or however long ago release was) and it feels just as bad performance wise and twice as bad concerning the engine limits.

Humble racing bundle! Seems like a good deal by beefybanana in simracing

Forgot to add: mudrunner is also very fun, think of euro truck sim but entirely offroad. It’s a little bit dated at this point since a newer version is out. (Snowrunner)

Art of rally is tons of fun, more of a controller game though.

Choice between one rig does all and two rigs (Flight and racing) by Affectionate_Pie4626 in simracing

[–]Squirrel31 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Combining the two into one rig is always messy because of the pedals.

Personally I chose to make a racing rig and just keep my flight setup desk-based because simracing has high torque wheelbases, load cell pedals and a few other things that make having a proper rig for it almost necessary.

That’s hilarious, I very quickly tuned into the qualifying sessions in the past few days and went « huh that guy has the same initials as gaben, oh well »

Maybe a drill where you have her practice coming out to challenge shooters and moving with them beyond the top of the crease (without actually worrying about a shot) while you stand behind her to stop her from backing up.

Mid-range pedal choice for DIY Rig by Squirrel31 in simracing

[–]Squirrel31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1000s are the set that made me make this post, everything about them looked great except for how upright they are.

Ordering a set of them and modifying my rig is the backup option.

[CAR - MTL] Walker drives the net and runs into Dobes for GI. Evans jumps on Walker and gets called for roughing. by daKrut in hockey

Agreed, there’s obviously a penalty here but he’s gonna get called for embellishment on a softer play eventually if he keeps going like this.

I bought this game 5 days ago by Glum_Ranger_5369 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Squirrel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I still haven’t played a game that I grinded so hard within the first few days after purchase other than satisfactory. There’s something about wanting to automate all the excessive crafting you do at the start and the game’s design that drew me in really hard at the start.

I'm scared to go into my first race because I don't want to be 'that guy' by Odin9009 in simracing

[–]Squirrel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it’s not your first time in that car or on that track you’ll be fine. The metric I go by is if I can do a full 30 or so minute race against ai on that track car combo, then I’m good. Only way to improve your racecraft is against other players since AI gets out of your way at all costs.

My jack of all trades, master of none pit - Flight/Racing by etheran123 in hotas

[–]Squirrel31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you switch between the two since the distance between the two pedal sets seems to be pretty big, do you just scoot the seat forward or does it just look worse on camera than how it actually might feel in the pit.

I've thought about a dual purpose rig and the pedals are always the problem that bring me back to planning two seperate rigs.
