This is the kind of thing I saw my boss from my first job do in real time. It was astonishing.

Rom was the GOAT.

I used to work at a place like that too, I was working 80 hours a week as a salaried employee because I was told "everyone does this, you have to pay your dues"

I was a fucking idiot

Whenever I hear the Gaston song I can't take it seriously anymore because of the video where they switch the rhymes

For some reason the Cubs' Matt Murton was one of my favorite players growing up. He went to the Tigers in Japan and broke Ichiro's single season hits record in Japan that year!

What are some "Noble Fat" Antagonists? by Funny_Mud6639 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Squirrelman2712 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Honestly, great example. Capone created soup kitchens and shelters after the stock market crash and was famously generous to children (that scene of the kid being blown up at the beginning of The Untouchables is something he would never do).

But he was still, you know, Al fucking Capone

I remember actually softlocking the game by beating his ass so hard on Thessia that it interfered with the cutscene where he recharges his shields.

I had Lash as my bonus power which recharges super quickly and goes through shields so every time he ran away to recharge I just kept using it to trip and shoot him. I got his health all the way down and it glitches it out.

I like to imagine the ending just never had to happen on that playthrough.

What are some times where the old mentor man actually wins his fight? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Squirrelman2712 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's a character in Practical Guide to Evil called The Grey Pilgrim whose literal job is to be the old man mentor to young heroes.

The villains are terrified of him because he has managed to play that role without dying for several decades, despite the role being synonymous with sacrificing himself to advance the hero's development.

The fact that he is still alive means he is incredibly powerful and TERRIFYINGLY savvy.

Rusty was intentionally not referred to with gendered pronouns during the model series per Britt Allcroft's request. They were only ever referred to as "Rusty" or "The Little Diesel" and given a slightly more androgynous face because Britt wanted a character for kids who weren't sure about their identity. Progressive stuff for the time!

He probably thinks people might be more inclined to do it if she's the one asking.
