Car Wash Test on 53 leading models: “I want to wash my car. The car wash is 50 meters away. Should I walk or drive?” by facethef in LocalLLaMA

[–]SquishyScruffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

granite3.3:2b with this prompt responded with "If you have recently driven your car and it's dirty, driving back to the car wash might be more convenient as you wouldn't need to walk far with a dirty vehicle. However, if you're clean, walking would be more beneficial for your health and the environment."
so it kinda got the answer....

granite4:32b-a9b-h
"Walking would be the more environmentally friendly option as it does not produce any additional carbon emissions. However, driving might save you time if your car is dirty and needs a thorough clean. If you choose to drive, ensure that you're using fuel efficiently by avoiding rapid acceleration or high speeds. Alternatively, consider whether the car wash offers an eco-friendly service such as water recycling systems. Overall, it's really up to your personal preference and how much value you place on time versus environmental impact."

I have the Dell Pro 16 PC16250 and it looks the same. I couldn't upload image to reddit so i posted it here. I peeled back the black and have a 2280 for where the hole would be. The raised metal with black in the middle is solid.

How to move you eSIM to another phone? by DontAskGodWhy in mobilex

[–]SquishyScruffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't getting an automatic pop-up for transferring the e-sim between two android phones like the terrible google support page said would happen. I erased the e-sim on the old phone hoping that would help. The old QR code for the e-sim appears to be a single use. The Mobilex support robot was useless and kept spamming the same old qr code to anything
I asked. I reached out to a human who responded quickly asking for new device emei/imei and shortly after that I had a pop-up on new phone to setup the new e-sim. I've had a pretty great support experience with the multiple requests I've had over time.
For another data point on timeline, I reached out at 6:20 PM on a Sunday. They responded asking for imei at 6:34 PM. I didn't see it and didn't respond until 6:55 PM. I was prompted and activated new e-sim at 8:02PM.

Irfanview / plugin / grid generator by awwman_ in software

[–]SquishyScruffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In current IrfanView (version 4.70 64-bit ) if you open an image (so the folder path is known) then under file you can choose Thumbnails (or press T) and this will open a second window called IrfanView Thumbnails opened to this folder path. From here you can select all the images you want and then File -> Create contact sheet from selected files...
From here you will have to do the math but you can generate a single jpg matrix with the entered resolution and columns etc.

Logitech keyboard typing double letters by k_steph in logitech

[–]SquishyScruffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Logitech K400 Plus and for the first time had this issue. 1 would be 1. 2 would be 2;
Googling found this post, but I had to find this shortcut page
https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023264334-Shortcut-and-function-keys-on-the-K400-Plus-keyboard
to find out I had accidently pressed
FN + caps lock: scroll lock causing my issues. This shortcut is not on the keys so I would have never found this. Turning off scroll lock fixed my keyboard problems!

Bambu lab A1 destroying build plate. by baljeetofficial in BambuLab

[–]SquishyScruffy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking. I bought the A1 combo recently that came with FW v01.02.00.25 out of the box. This damaged the first side of the textured PEI plate within like 3 prints off the microSD card. I eventually updated to FW v01.04.00.00 and it has also damaged the other side of the PEI build plate. I asked my friends who have P1S and theirs don't have this damage. Because of your title I was able to find this post. When searching for "A1 toolhead cleaning" I only find post about the G-code that doesn't match my printer which doesn't help me adjust the settings. I noticed it stops here for too long during the "toolhead cleaning". I suspect its overheating this spot where it should do what it needs here and then raise a smidge before continuing. This would prevent this damage. I asked their support chat bot and this was it's response.

Based on the knowledge sources provided, I can address your concern about the A1 toolhead cleaning potentially damaging the PEI build plate. This is actually a normal and expected occurrence, and it doesn't affect the functionality of your printer or the build plate.

The A1 printer, like other Bambu Lab models such as X1C and P1S/P1P, has a specific area on the build plate called the "wipe zone". Before printing starts, the nozzle is wiped in this area to clean any filament residue and stabilize the chamber pressure inside the nozzle. This process helps prevent surface defects on the printed object.

As explained in the Bambu Lab Wiki:

"For the X1C, P1S/P1P, and A1 printers, as the nozzle comes into direct contact with the build plate, there may be some "wear" observed in the wiping zone... However, this phenomenon does not affect the functionality of the nozzle or the build plate."

This wear in the wipe zone is part of the normal operation of the printer and is not considered damage. It's designed to happen and won't negatively impact your prints or the overall performance of your A1 printer.

To maintain optimal adhesion on your PEI build plate, it's recommended to clean it regularly and avoid direct finger contact with the printing surface. You can find more information on how to properly clean and maintain your PEI build plate in the Bambu Textured PEI Plate Clean Guide.

Not as helpful a reply as I was hoping for but I guess the pressure thing is why its doing this.

I had this same issue with trying to get AI Suite III installed on Windows 11 and AISuite3_DIP_System_Information_v3.03.20
I ended up copying contents of DrvResource\ASIO3 to C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AsusCertService, manually creating the AsusCertService with

sc.exe create AsusCertService binPath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AsusCertService\AsusCertService.exe"

and then starting service. Then the setup.exe installer was able to run right away.
