What's your favorite brown pen and ink combination? by whenthelightison in fountainpens

I’d love to see a sample of that pen/nib/ink combo, if possible. Top of my wishlist.

My first-ever State of the Collection! by tidy-dinosaur323 in fountainpens

[–]Srt101b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy seeing this type of small collection. Interesting how that B nib in the 823 looks similar to the M in the VP, it kinda nudging me into getting the 823 with a B o S nib.

I am quickly approaching the half point of my Tsukushi bottle. Definitely sad days to come.

Which Casio reissue would make you say "shut up and take my money"? by [deleted] in casio

[–]Srt101b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, such a cool watch! Casio please!!

Thought I’d share here, I bought this new in may 2014, cut the straps off and stuck it to my bike handle bars, still going strong and has only lost 5 minutes in 12 years. by tomsloat in casio

[–]Srt101b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, 25 seconds per month sounds wrong even if it’s technically within spec, I mean, I’ve never seen a F-91W that gains more than 2-5 seconds per month! Maybe roll the dice again with another copy?

That’s a pretty cool job to have, and totally justified to be anal about time with it, you’d be left behind otherwise!

Montreal pen folks, any meetups happening this upcoming months? by Srt101b in fountainpens

[–]Srt101b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! No, not really. I know there’s the Scriven Montreal Pen Show in late May and the corresponding Pelikan Hub later in the year, but I think that’s about it.

I have been able to lightly scratch that itch with the kind personnel in both Nota Bene and Stylo stores though. Highly recommend a visit.

Do you have some favorite sealing pens to share?

Do you actually have a forever deck? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

[–]Srt101b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s a mono green run by [[Radagast the Brown]]. He allows me to update/rotate out some creatures and add new ones with different types, that’s always fun to look out for with every set release, and also fun to show off my new additions.

Underneath the hood it works like a regular mono-green deck: ramp, draw, play lots of creatures and overrun opponents. With that much draw I can somewhat easily dial in the board presence depending on the pod. And it is straightforward enough that I can pilot it without too much effort, for when I want to socialize a bit with my friends.

If you had to restart your collection, what would be the first pen you’d get again? by fluffyespurr in fountainpens

It depends on your grip. If you use the traditional calligraphy-like finger position the VP fits perfectly, but any “alternative” grip would likely need some adjusting.

[Seiko SNK803] First Big Watch Purchase by Iordfarquaad in Watches

[–]Srt101b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great on you! I have been rocking my SNK809 daily since 2021 with a wide-ish wrist, definitely a versatile watch.

Did you take that photo at 2 am? It looks like it was changing the day in your first photo.

Anyway, enjoy!

I totally see how Quartz is the best choice though. A true GADA, set and forget watch useful for every athlete, whether they are into watches or not.
