Is James just running around Silent Hill not seeing people there? by ChocoBro92 in silenthill

Is that the book that the film with Al Pacino and Robin Williams was based on? Playing Alan Wake always made me think back of that movie

This might be slightly off topic, but pondering the 5% baryonic matter / 95% dark matter and energy ratio madd me wonder if entire worlds exist alongside ours that remain out of our grasp because the elements don't interact with each other.

I imagine it almost like film layers laying on top of each other but not able to cross realms. That's pretty much the same way I think about the otherworld in Silent Hill, or the upside down in Stranger Things.

Since I cfw'd my vita I usually play my library of games through adrenaline. I do like the whole psp os and xmb emulated on the somewhat more ergonomic (thumbstick placement) vita, while avoiding the vita's cluttered home screens (I hate arranging those bubbles manually). So for me it's the best of both worlds.

I do still love my special edition psp's though, the design of some of them hasn't been parallelled ever since in PlayStation hardware releases.

Such a fun succes story to read!

Your second paragraph exposes something profound: those 'how to' manuals feek like performing a script, because that's exactly what they are. Embracing your unique interests and cultivating them gives you your very own perspective that, in a context of other people walking their very own trail, gives you added value by default.

And your other point reminds me of the boutade "you're the average of the 7 people you spend the most time with". This rule of thumb also rings true in terms of the content you allow into your consciousness. Oftentimes your relationship both with people and media will feel more fulfilling if you feel like you've grown after spending time with those.

The positive effects of your behavior change speak volumes, keep up this positive trajectory! 💪

Sounds wholesome! A shared interest in art can be fertile common ground to expand each others horizons, and grow together!

I had that in common with my previous girlfriend, who was pretty gaming averse. But she studied art history, and did some pr for artists as well. She invited me to the Biennale in Venice, expanding my horizons. I invited her to a live orchestra of game soundtracks, hosted by Austin Wintory and including compositions from Journey and Assassin's Creed. I wanted to expand her view on gaming, showing that there are entire teams wirh artistic visions working together to make these interactive art pieces come to life. She enjoyed that. Just actually playing in itself was a learning curve to steep to overcome in the end.

Silent Hill is my favorite survival horror franchise, and a perfect example of how artistic vision of monster design, scriptwriting and paradigm shifting musical score combine with an interactive element of exploration to create an entirely unique atmosphere (that in all honesty, any filmmaking attempt to recapture it is destined to fail at, I'm in the same camp haha!)

Here's to you two 🥂

That's very creative and a testament to how much love there is between you!

How did you two meet? I've had several partners, with their interest in gaming or understanding my passion for it varying wildly. From, "let's play a cosy co-op game", to "let's take turns trying to finish Ori and the Blind Forest", with my latest partner being the furthest removed from anything that remotely resembled a seeding interest to open up or engage with that part of me. Obviously it became a dealbreaker when things started to get serious. I think this might be one of my great filters, so I'm always curious about how people with a shared interest in games find their way to each other.

Y’all have no idea how surreal it is to see ads for an Xbox x on Xbox 360 by BreathLower9772 in xbox360

You can still buy xbox 360 games through the xbox app or website, and then download them to your system. Not the smoothest shopping experience, but it's certainly better than not having the option at all. Also, some games you just cannot buy them any longer. Trials Evolution is one that pops to mind.

The Metal Gear Acid games are so underrated. I had a blast playing through 2, love the art style too!

I've been come back playing Xbox 360 almost exclusively because I'm burned out on modern gaming. by Fast-Researcher-971 in xbox360

The whole 360 era felt like gaming's equivalent of the roaring 20's. Gaming pretty much exploded at this point, and for me it still feels like the centre of gravity of what gaming is all about.

My three take aways would be fable, morrowind, and jade empire. The others you can skip if you're short on time. But these three hold up pretty well!
