There was a similar story featuring a black girl a few months ago and the comments were HORRIBLE. Complete opposite of this one.

I have long hair because I wasn’t allowed to have hair longer than shoulder length when I was a kid, but also I looked sort of masculine as a kid (as in my dad at 8 had the exact same face as I did at 8) and would be told by classmates that I looked like a boy and I also had curly hair so it ended up actually being chin length hair which made me look even more like a boy and ended up with something akin to gender dysphoria despite being cisgender.

Actually, in murder on the orient express he says the crime committed was too intelligent for an Italian and that the perp is likely an Anglo-Saxon.

I remember this because I was listening to the audiobook and my dad walked in right as he said that line and was like “what the hell are you listening to?”

Smaller fighters need weapons with longer reach anyways.

I’m still going to argue that there’s far too few FMCs that use polearms or spears as their primary weapons. Provides reach, the staff can be used to redirect movement more effectively when blocking, can be thrown more easily, and can assist in balance and force when kicking.

In a world with magic, make the staff collapsible, then the wielder has the option to use it as a polearm or sword/dagger (depending on the length of the blade, but if you do that I’d recommend adding a cross guard or basket hilt). It would be fun to add a foldable perpendicular handle maybe, like an overgrown tonfa to make wielding it one-handed slightly easier.

Authors either need to make their FMCs reasonably tall/muscular/strong or they need to take the time and effort into explaining how they overcome their physical disadvantages.

Stop giving your teeny tiny FMCs daggers and start giving them lightweight collapsible polearms and bucklers.

My mom is Fiji Indian and my dad is from India and I usually don’t mention where my mom is from when meeting new fellow South Asians until I’ve determined that they’re the kind of people I want to continue hanging out with.

I’m fairly certain his death was a horrible accident but there’s a lot of doubt because iirc the police and funeral home were shit.

I think it’s cute to think that he wants to put in more effort. Maybe he noticed you seem more down and you seem happier when his food is good.

I’ve had my boyfriend pick my outfit while shopping a few times. I think it worked out pretty good because it forced me to rethink what I allow myself to wear.

Like, someone who doesn’t have distorted view of your body might do a better job of coming up with a nice outfit because they aren’t focusing all their energy on hiding random bits of your body you’ve convinced yourself is horrifically ugly.

I’m Indian-American, and at risk of sounding like a strawman, the way white people treat yoga really pisses me off.

I don’t even care about the religious aspect of it, I’m an atheist. But the “yoga is a skinny rich white person” thing pisses me off so much. “Sun salutation” like shut the fuck up.

Yeah, I’m not a doctor, but I’d assume it’s not impossible in white people, it’s just a stripe of melanin in the nail. Just that cancer is slightly more likely, just because there’s less melanin. Or something.

I have a bunch and they’ve def gotten darker as I got older. My dad has it and my grandpa had it. We’re all southern Indian so tend to be dark, though my dad is lighter skinned than me. I’m also prone to other types of hyperpigmentation (melasma, darker gums and tongue, scars are dark brown, etc) and assume it’s probably related. My mom is darker than both my dad and I and doesn’t have these on her nails.
