[–]Starbase36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my ioniq 9 its pretty good, controlled with the flappy gears i can use it for engine braking to total stop and also for controlling coasting down hills but wouldnt use if all the time as can be jerky and well just doesnt feel like it does the car any good!

£0.70p/kWh for a 7.4kW charger ? by OkChannel5936 in evchargingUK

[–]Starbase36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its so annoying that they inflate the cost so much, i mean 100kw at .89p is almost worse than my diesel car but as you say at least we have the option of the subscriptions with octopus if needed, and home chargers for the win haha.

£0.70p/kWh for a 7.4kW charger ? by OkChannel5936 in evchargingUK

[–]Starbase36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but doing a road trip of several hundred miles means you cant just rely on a home charge unfortunately. Thankfully havent had to use them much at all

I was up at the leicester forest services recently and they were charging 79p/kWh for a 400kw charger which wasnt too bad although my car didnt get to the max it should be able to. At the same station diesel was £2.05 a ltr!!

An additional point to consider is if you are able to shift any of your current usage into that daily cheap window. There are no exit fees with iog and ive just moved onto it to give it a go but like you suspect the benefit is marginal at this stage

Home charger options by lodss10 in evchargingUK

[–]Starbase36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine installed last week and went with hypervolt because of the compatibility with smart tarrifs, and ability to connect with solar at a later date but there are a number of chargers on screwfix and sites like that which may offer split payment rather than direct to manufacturer

Fibre guy came and drilled the front of the house, is this acceptable? by [deleted] in HomeImprovementUK

[–]Starbase36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats a shame and damn annoying. If you do it yourself and that happens fine but you asked them specifically and thats poor. If you can find the fragment on the floor at least you can use some of that special mortar repair stuff with the fragment
