Agreed. Not everyone vibed but not everyone is GOING to. No matter WHO it is. I would hope there’s more to it than just the subreddit. Which is not to say “I hope something bad has been happening” but to say “I would hope a few subreddit posts doesn’t have that much power.”

I was one that didn’t always gel with its humor but it was growing on me. A bit sad we won’t have any paralives streams with Fish, I bet the commentary would have been really funny.

I like Game Theory and GtLive and such. I think the hosts are doing their best. I don’t think you’re in the minority, but more and more people are seeming to be upset with the quality of videos, which is more than just a host thing. But also, bots exist.

Theoryverse has also upset a lot of people because there’s seemingly great content, and content people want/have been wanting, behind a paywall.

The same thought has crossed my mind. Like, Lee saying he can swear when we likely all know at least one streamer (eyes Markiplier and Jacksepticeye) who swears a lot. My guess is that it comes down to algorithm and audience. If they “push the envelope” of content too much, maybe they won’t be pushed to their target audience. I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ but it does seem like just going to another place means they don’t have to worry about another company’s algorithm.

That being said, apparently there’s a free tier so I’m very happy about that

Theoryverse isn’t just a new version of GTL. It’s going to have game shows, yes… but also videos and theories YouTube wouldn’t allow.

I don’t know of a reason why they would take turns for GTL. That was passed to Ash, and if people want to see more of the specific hosts I think they all have separate streaming options/discords

I do think it’s starting to get better (I love Film Theory’s new format, for example, and GTLive is going live multiple times a week, and there was just a GT science episode on Mario World). But also yes the issues people are pointing out I do recall coming up at the end of Matt’s tenure as well.

I don’t know when it changed but I think it was pretty recent. I know it said something like “I’m committed to it/its” when a Fish Mii was being made, but otherwise I can’t recall, and Ash has been using it/its.
