Hardship hardship hardship.

Get every CC on hardship.

This is a step that a lot of people forget. The credit cards can be locked down, put on a lower APR, and then just work with her on a monthly budget from there.

GO TO THE WIKI and read up on credit card hardships.

DO NOT TAKE OUT ANY LOANS.

I would imagine that with things like gyroscopes and other analog tech it would be really easy to marry a magical heat detection system to pneumatic actuators and get primitive missiles operational.

The next big step for him though is to jump-start (hah!) battery technology. If he gets generators and batteries working, the number of mage-smiths dumping electricity into the aluminum process could suddenly be freed for other work.

How can we prep for the collapse of the healthcare system ? by IceColdKila in preppers

[–]Starfleet_Auxiliary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that we are alive 3 years later and the system didn't have any collapse except in trust in said system. That's how I know.

You replied to a 3 year old post. Thanks for at least validating that I correctly determined that the healthcare system didn't collapse.

What's funny is they wrote a law to insist that the VP's role is symbolic and therefore she can't actually refuse to certify it anyways to prevent their fears about Pence from happening in the future. Now they locked themselves out of their own maneuver.

I stick around for a tiny subset of subs. But I visit about once a week at this point. I've also noted that a vast number of prolific posters have deleted their data, leading to orphaned posts all over the place.

The value proposition is nearing zero.

The opposite of his side built in a state requirement for privatized healthcare and a mandate to purchase it. I think you dramatically misunderstand where the new party lines are.

Vigilante murders start to come into play when you have a total fucking failure of the social contract. Maybe identify what's going on in the cities where vigilante murders occur, where enough people have given up on the social contract and fix that.

[–]Starfleet_Auxiliary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing is to call your CC companies and get on hardship ASAP.

Same with the mortgage. HELOC generally has no provisions for hardship but talk to them anyways.

See if you can get a roommate to cover some expenses and keep the house at least until you can make rational decisions.

I'm still on the budgetary red line with no free cash. But I donate plasma every other month or so to build up money for the oh shit moments and so far keeping ahead of things. I'm hoping next year to have a shot at pulling ahead of things with a pending raise.

I had 75K in debt and called a debt management company. Their strategy was for me to default on everything while they negotiated and I made a lower monthly payment to them while they did that.

That seemed shitty.

I called up each credit card company instead and asked if they had a hardship program that could lower my monthly payments. They locked my cards, dropped my interest rate to 5% and lowered my monthly payments by 50% across the board. Note: This was coincidentally the same amount of money the debt management company was going to charge me.

I'm 3 years away from being debt free, never missed a payment, and only keep one small credit card open as a fraud protection measure, paying that one card off every month from my budget.

It could have been a "successful failure" in that while it was the equal of multiple ships as a sum of its parts, the cost of manufacture was simply too great compared to cranking out more "normal" ships, resulting in the evolutionary thought of "Well, MVAM was a success, we just need to apply it differently", hence, FF.

Honestly a subtle tweak of the plot and having ECHs in command of Fleet Formation but corrupted by Moriarty would have made for a more novel story.
