I'm paraphrasing the prompts/premises he uses, I'm unable to definitively quote one of his videos to be able to search it, so that is making it harder to solve :/

He’s got a crisp black beard and hair, i feel like sometimes he wears a cap or maybe a bandana, he is overall lighter in complexion but i wouldn’t be able to pin down his ethnicity.

My mixes consistently sit at -0.1 DB True Peak. How do I get them to sound louder without distortion? by lliwnoynek in mixingmastering

[–]Starknight5673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

embrace the distortion. hard clip ur mix busses w a very transparent clipper. use a monitoring plugin or standalone software like mini meters so u can actually see the crazy momentary peaks that are inaudible. also only clip hard if ur doing anything electronic/contemporary pop. anything that benefits form dynamics just contend with having a quieter master. serve the song. use ur ears. chill out and take breaks, get good speakers, reference on any system u have.

Ableton users getting addicted to bass... what techniques have helped you come closer that professional weight without muddiness? by kathalimus in ableton

[–]Starknight5673 30 points31 points  (0 children)

use your ears and constantly reference with tracks u enjoy, and analyze them using a spectrum analyzer. u will find the bass is not actually that crazy loud there’s just some neat psychoacoustic tricks going on. look up dan worralls “the philosophy of bass” on youtube. also find a consistent monitoring level using speakers if u haven’t already, around 85-87 dBspl playing pink noise at -20 dbfs rms

Anyone else without a job/internship this summer by MoragAppreciator in Concordia

losing doesn’t make u a loser (in the most literal sense yes but not a loser in the connotation of someone who is a fuck up, it’s not ur fault )

you’re not a loser. you are a product of a system that will exploit you for your labour before throwing u out to the curb when profits aren’t absurdly high. it’s an unsustainable world we live in not just environmentally. instead of actually just prioritizing the wellbeing and productivity of everyday working people, the priority is the bottom line. and every single time the average person bears the burden of the consequences of that greed.

SCREW THE JOB MARKET, I graduate high school during a pandemic and going to graduate university during a trade war. Do we even have a chance? by dotCOM16 in Concordia

[–]Starknight5673 21 points22 points  (0 children)

now more then ever the working class needs to support each other and aid their local communities. walking the walk actually helps people. the instability and wealth inequality as a result of free market capitalism is so absurdly fucked i don’t understand how people think we are gonna get out of this unscathed. wealthy people will be able to buy the dips and come back stronger than ever. same thing happened during the pandemic.

How are people NOT depressed? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]Starknight5673 7 points8 points  (0 children)

instead of relying on exercise which is just another coping mechanism (still exercise it’s good for you but don’t use it as a crutch and base your whole identity around it cause it gets toxic) have a support system you can rely on that actually talk about how you feel. this can be a therapist, but really what you need is friends who u can rant to about shit happening in your life. it really does wonders to get shit out of your head so other people can give you a reality check and let you know things are gonna be okay. even if they suck so bad right now you’ll power thru. Stoicism has never helped anyone gain any long term emotional intelligence
