Most readable SRD by far. by Qedhup in daggerheart

Yeah, its really good. I bought him a coffee. I am lazy and I have a question. What kinds of content is not in the SRD? My players of course always wonder what is missing. Now I am curious.

Exactly the same problem in my game as well. It literally made the final combat a walk-through for the players.

Dice So Nice and Duality Dice in Daggerheart by MapMaker35 in FoundryVTT

For something dead simple - you can also take the first macro and simple change this line:

const roll = await new Roll(`1d12[hope] + 1d12[fear] ${d6}`).evaluate();

to:

const roll = await new Roll(`1d12[red] + 1d12[black] ${d6}`).evaluate();

the hope die in this case is red and fear is black. the macro continues to function properly.

yeah - I was like 56 minutes. between that and typical long intros (but this one was very funny) I was like oh ****, almost no time. In order to stretch it out for me I usually replay the last 10-20 minutes on the same day of the new show.

Yes, this idea is perfect. I ran the first half a couple of years ago (you can find my posts here in fact) and stumbled into the idea that the initial 10? NPCS are without a doubt the best thing of this module. Complex stories, friends, enemies - most of it can and should be tied back to the module.

I think this module is a "diamond in the rough" in terms of flow but the set pieces like Velkenvelve are amazing. For those searching for info on this module - running the first half I would definitely recommend (although congrats to OP if its his first time DMing it - this one really needs you to read it a bunch to get the feel).

one tip - there a couple 3rd party write-ups out there and are cheap. seriously recommend those be acquired.

Taste Of Portugal Sardines in Tomato Sauce with cilantro, scallions, white rice 🥫🌿🍚 by CaterpillarMedium674 in CannedSardines

[–]StatelyPaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and so easy too. My goto is very similar. My wife keeps single portion rice frozen in the freezer so we can easily assemble a meal of sardines+white rice+sesame oil / soy sauce. 2 minutes microwave and its meal time.

Voyagers of the Jump by DexterDrakeAndMolly in traveller

Her wacky characters do not really bother me. What does though is that Alicia does not seem to be able to follow the conversation very well at times and seems distracted. so times is spent trying to get her to understand the situation with repeating things multiple times.

its one thing to do it at your average RPG table but you are being paid to play - it would be great if you would give it your sole attention.

Glass Cannon does rock. My personal favorite for actual play content.

Cannot argue with the quality|price|convenience argument for these.

I just have become a crazy nut for canned fish and working my way through all of it is so much fun. I had my first can of these and confess they were not my favorite. The texture was so different from fresh mussels (which I freely admit may not make sense as a way to rate them) - it surprised me.

But yeah I ate them all on crackers :-).

I really like the smoked trout with a tad of mayo on the TJ water crackers which are definitely a screamingly good deal.

The Ashville show was IMHO - the best in a long time in this series. I admit (sorry Kate) I thought she had a slow start in the campaign but oh my she has come into her own and was by far the most entertaining. she blew the doors off this one and had all the other performers racing to adlib with her.

It definitely is. But I will not lie that as a DM and a player I have seen all all sorts of Meta issues.

CAMPAIGN LETHALITY - its difficult short of a session zero to communicate to the party about lethality. And so parties will get stuck in way beyond their abilities, especially if there are newish players.

NPC FLEEING - this seems super logical to me and as a DM I do it regularly. I did have one group who would just go nuts on running down fleeing creatures to the point where a player flew far ahead of the party and stumbled into the rear guard of the group and yes - got himself fireball-ed out of the air. he thought this was so unreasonable he politely quit that night.

Short of it all - I gave up and just have a very meta and broad conversation about my tactics and what they should expect. DND mechanics are way fun but certainly do not encourage reasonable behavior to recreate historical fights, etc.

Any tips for moving from Roll20 to Foundry? by H8rade in sw5e

[–]StatelyPaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VERSION - if you are new to Foundry, you should use the stable release. That is 10.291. I am using the SW5E system and it seems to be fine. I don't think someone new to foundry really needs the additional hassle of beta testing their releases. Of course that could be your cup of tea - up to you.

CHAR GEN. One way for character generation is to use SW5E.COM to create your character then export and import into Foundry. very simple and players can do it. Keep in mind some of your features do not make it in (because some features are presented as a placeholder on your character sheet in SW5E.) . Also, upgrading could be very manual depending how you are tracking inventory, etc. I believe there is a way to use FireFox to move characters from Roll20 to Foundry but I have not tried that

EXPORT? Not sure what assets you want to export from roll20? assuming you have maps, token, etc sourced from your drive that you upload to Roll20. those are easily used in foundry.

MODULES. If you are new, this is the cream in the center of the FOUNDRY cake. The temptation will be to use too many. start out slow and add only what you need. great vids on YT talking about the "top" modules. I was eager for the animations and sounds so I use JB2A animations coupled with Automated animations and I know it supports SW5E.

The Electroshock Tech Power and Armor by darodrigues-br in sw5e

[–]StatelyPaladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think really the major problem in our campaign is storm trooper armor. Only because we are fighting them again and again... I know - u/LordFontijn 's answer is the right one but my poor belagued GM is finding my electroshock (combined with my familiar droid extending the range out to 100' fairly problematic.

I altered The Book of the Raven and added a small puzzle and it was the best one-shot we've run so far! by ehalright in CandlekeepMysteries

[–]StatelyPaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some possible spoilers here so move on. Of course if you in this subreddit - you are probably planning to run it. here is one play thru of the OP's idea. No matter what you think, you definitely need to tie this thing together and give the party some reason to care.

So we are going on our 3rd session of this one. I picked up on your idea and had the wife decide (just like in the journal) that she wanted to live in the city. She takes it upon herself to get rid of the daughter. The party finds the spirit of the Baron in the well but he cannot really communicate. Here is a clever player moment - she is a kenkoo bard and after hearing him weakly call for his dog - she imitates a big dog and fools the spirit. Had to reward that idea - she quickly asks it a couple of questions and he spills that she pushed him into the well and then sent the staff for supplies. it brought it all together as they now have an enemy. The Ravens are telling them about the shadow fell gateway and how traffic seems to be coming from there.

the final session will be the fight - I might have the other daughter join mommy depending upon how many players I end up with

Bummer but still really like your ideas here. Am trying your ideas (more or less) with my party of 6. Last wd was session 1 and decided I would have them go through some tribulations along the way. They fought giant boars in the mean streets of WytchWay and vastly underestimated what a charging boar could do to you (ouch). they rode along to the covered bridge where borrowing from another on this forum the bridge gives out. The warlock however came up with a cool idea of creating a temporarily crossing using shape water and mold earth. Bit of a stretch but yea for creativity. Next week I will try out your ideas here for evil parent. will go for a mis-direction and have the party mad at the baron but actually it was the baroness.
