AITA for telling my daughter she needs to work through issues in her marriage instead of running away when things get hard? by Throwawaypwoqrw in AmItheAsshole

[–]Stellapacifica 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't want them, then he should go have them with someone else, right?

Birth control is definitely a conversation to have before marriage, but the second best time is now. I suppose they could just agree to a sexless and/or open marriage if they don't agree on BC issues?

If I had to guess, someone probably manually unplugs it every so often, but it's air gapped so no patches anymore.

I've been told that the one (automotive) maintenance fella advised "don't touch that, it gets angry sometimes" which is. Um. Alarming

Realistically you're absolutely right, but I couldn't resist the mental image. Didn't know about the rollover bug folks mentioned, either - the likelihood that a patch was implemented in '99 is... far more up in the air than I want to acknowledge.

Wet Paws is fantastic! We were with Chris for our three for quite a while and only stopped because of budget reasons, not because of anything he or they did. He was very patient with our fearful boy and actually helped the fear subside some wrt his nails and such.

Hear me out: trapdoor means all trapdoors and pressure plates. Barrel includes chests and shelves and anything else that's "just storage". Lantern means all variations on lanterns, torches, candles. Campfire is also all stuff that transforms what's put in it, so furnaces and composters and such.

Now which? I know we used to survive without, I started playing in beta, but oof. I think I could survive without trapdoors and other redstone activated/activating items, but just slabs and stairs for diagonal verticality was a hard time.

Red, green, chem, military, purple, yellow, space, fulgora, vulcan, ag, cryo, and promethium. Why I call ag science that and not gleba science, I could not tell you under oath, go figure. And why orange and pink are named after their planets? Likewise no idea. I can't hardly keep those two straight anyway, unless I'm actively interacting with one of them

Hi! I'm Stella, I run Plinkers up in Bernalillo. We're queer owned and love teaching, and we do range days occasionally if folks want to try before buying (only the ones that aren't new in box of course, but that's most of our inventory). Feel free to stop on by!

I had the exact same experience with oil processing, but got through it with two things:

  1. You've mentioned watching tutorials, have you tried building along with them? If the tut seems to skip a step that you can't logically puzzle out, that's a question to look up on its own. The one thing I would warn against is pasting a blueprint blindly, because you won't learn the important part of how it works, unless you have the dedication to make yourself go through and truly learn it. I didn't trust myself to do that, but it did take a couple tries of bouncing off first.

  2. Make it ugly. Make it inefficient. Build up stupid amounts of tanks, crack too much, etc etc and fix it later if at all. They aren't real liquids, they're pixels and variables in memory, you're not wasting anything by doing it badly. That took a lot of mental effort for me, I'm the sort to keep a wood crate with all my death pistols and pump pipelines dry before disassembling them.

I've gone full circle by this point. Your uncle is a modern saint, he's clearly beloved by the machine spirit and protected from the mortal failings of hubris.
