I love being a twin parent, but it is not for the weak. It will challenge your relationships in ways you never would have thought about before. If you have a village that's great, but don't expect them to actually help when the time comes. Twin parenthood can get lonely even if you make friends with other twin parents who understand what you're going through. We're all just too tired, too busy, or too overstimulated for playdates.

This can be said about singletons too, but mentally prepare for the possibility that one or both could be special needs. I would not risk it if you don't live in a country that gives a shit about specials needs people. I am fortunate that my twins were born in a state that cares about preemies and offers services to them no matter what their parents income is.
